Allaire Village

We ride our bikes on the
that either starts or ends at Allaire Village,
depending on how you look at it.
The trails are multi-use, for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
They are fairly flat and easy to ride.

During a recent ride,
we stopped in Allaire to admire the historic trains in the railway graveyard.
We really stopped because my legs were weak and burning
and I was afraid I would not be able to go any further...
I thought the first reason sounded better!

Either way, it was a good decision because when we got back on the bikes,
I was able to finish my ride.

We visit Allaire so often...
If you would like to read about it or see pictures of the historic buildings,
hop over to here, this is a good post about the park.
If you have followed my blog for any length of time, you have read many posts about Allaire.

Love the old trains. My grandfather was an engineer and the interest must be genetic. Lol.

Love the picture of the tracks...makes me think of life and how if you just move a little it can change your whole destiny.

Greg would love this, every time we see trains around here there is fencing around them and he can't get any good pictures, that is nice there is a place along the way that you can take a break if you need one:)

Our grandfather was also, Marie! And, my dad when a teenager would hop the train to visit his dad in Kentucky. :)

You know I just love seeing the old trains. I am thrilled to see them here, Debbie.

So glad that you were able to continue the bike ride, and so happy there are days that you can.

The best way to travel by train, and steam trains the best of the lot.

Looks like there is a lot of history in that train graveyard.

Wonderful photos! Love the vintage cars and seeing you 'riding the rails'! Scrolled down to see the wonderful gardens, too.

You amaze me! You can barely walk and yet you are out pedaling your bike for miles!!
I guess the exercise is good for you?

How neat- I love old trains. My husband would love to find a bike trail around here. He has to ride on the highway, which scares me to death.

It's a great rest stop/destination along the bikeway. We used to ride our bikes a lot, but there's no good place here in Florida so we sold them almost 10 years ago and I haven't ridden one since. Then I 'inherited' an old purple tricycle and I do ride it around our resort some... but my legs get so tired! (I can walk quite a long ways without my legs giving out if I have good shoes on ...biking takes different muscles.)

I just love trains, especially old ones, and these are true beauties, Debbie.
I am guessing from the looks of Allaire, that whenever you go, you can always find something new to photograph. Love that!
xo.

I love that the two of you enjoy biking so much. We have bikes and need to get ourselves out and about on them. I loved all the photos from the train yard and especially the ones of you two smiling. I admire that you persevere when you are in pain and just stop rests and start again.
Sending loving thoughts and big hugs your way!

Very nice! I like anything train related. One of my biggest disappointments was the disappearance of cabooses.

This would be a favorite spot for Greg - he enjoys all things train - including picking me up every night because he gets to see my train come in.
