Saturday Critters ~ 195 ~

Napping on the Mystic River

Sparrows, because they are brown, they don't get near the attention they deserve.
But look at that beautiful feather pattern.
They are so pretty and have especially intricate detail in their wings.

Take time to notice and photograph this bird, you will be glad you did!

Oh how precious!!!!

You certainly are doing your part, to showcase the pretty-ness of sparrows.

Perhaps the reason they are not more appreciated, is that they are so small. Hard to notice details. And the plain brown does not stand out as much as yellow or red or blue.

But in photos, they are just precious!!!!

thank you!

How sweet...nice, new, fluffy baby birdie! Loving it. I love spring when you see all the new babies learning to fly or watching moms and dads doing the feeding. Not as much of that around here happening this time of the yr. Heading to my older brothers house for a week while they are out of town so I will be watching the deer again. I love seeing animals in the wild! Thanks for sharing.

I will agree with you on the beauty in those feathers. I don't care for the House Sparrows, but in truth they do have lots of beauty. Thanks for reminding me of that.

These captures are just like reaching out and touching this sweet thing! Did you get a new lens? Or something wonderful in your shooting. I am always impressed with your photos!

Extraordinary shots!!

I didn't use to appreciate them either, until I moved to Tampa, where I never saw them (the blue jays and doves under our trees keep them out, I think...but I see them at cafes, in parking lots here). I wish they visited my feeders.

Of course, I don't know birds like you do; but I wouldn't have thought this as a Sparrow. I am going to diffidently look closer at the ones I see. You got such fantastic photos of this sweet little Sparrow. I don't know how you do it; you are amazing! I loved the fluffy photos; so lovely! You have such a gift of capturing the unique! So happy you share them all with us. Sending loving thoughts and hugs your way!
