Six Words Friday ~ Drive ~

"Drive me here...

...my resting place"!!

I have been inspired by so many people in my life.
Some I see all the time, some I have never met, some are gone.
Lisa Gordon's impact on me has been immeasurable.
She is a kind, supportive, amazing photographer.
Lisa did a photo shoot with an old train once.
I was so moved by those images, when I saw this old train,
I knew that I had to photograph it.
You can view Lisa's amazing images here.
Thank you Lisa, for inspiring me beyond words.

I am sharing my dream of riding this train with,
Adrienne at My Memory Art ~ Six Words Friday
Please stop by and share Six Words with my dear friend Adrienne.
Many thanks Adrienne for hosting Six Words Friday,
it's both challenging and fun!

I really like this series of photos! We had the Steam Engine Train called the "Daylight" come through here a few years ago. There's nothing like hearing that lonesome whistle blow...

You're right about Lisa - wonderful and inspiring photos! I got so distracted I almost forgot to come back here to comment...oops! And hey, I'll drive with you to that old rusty train any day! There's got to be a cool train 'graveyard' up here - goodness knows there's plenty of old stuff around!

I like these! I like seeing the whole train and then the fine details. This would make a great framed series. :-)

Don't sell yourself short, kiddo! You're a very accomplished photographer, and I love seeing your photos! This train is mournful, but at the same regal.

Hi Debbie!
What exciting pix. When I was a very small girl, I had a three item bucket list: go to Mardi Gras, go to San Francisco, hop a freight train. I haven't been to SF yet. Now, admittedly, the train was standing still, but I plucked up my courage and climbed up on the caboose to check it out.
Then, one of my favorite childhood books was The Boxcar Children. Do you remember it?
I love the way some people convert old train cars into homes.
And, lastly, the train around the Christmas tree! And the kind of metallic smell that it produced.
Love trains. Happy Weekend, dear. Weather fab here. Hope there, too.

You, sweet friend, are too kind.

Thank you so very much for your words.

Now about these photographs....AMAZING!!!
Debbie, these are so beautiful. One of the things I love about old "stuff" is the character that you can actually feel. You have captured that character so beautifully here. I hope you are very, very proud of these. xo.

Debbie, as a NJ native married to another NJ native and rail fan I am interested in knowing where you saw and photographed these train cars. This may be a destination on a future NJ trip.

I love these photos. I would really like to go on a train trip. I rode a train from California to Utah when I was 18 years old and that was the last time. My hubby and I have talked about doing a trip.
These were some great shots of a well used train, antique I would say.
Blessings!
