Checking on Moma...

Yesterday...on our way home, the hubs and I stopped by Godfrey Lake
to check on Moma swan.

She is tucked way back in the woods, well protected from danger...

sitting on her nest, guarding her babies to be.

Yesterday, I found a small, thin path
where I was able to see and photograph her a little bit better then last time.

My presence did not go unnoticed...

Daddy swan was swimming close by the nest
and moved in even closer...the closer I got to the nest.

Is this not the most beautiful thing you have ever seen??
Not the image...the feeling the image evokes,
I just love nature.

Papa swans neck, coupled with it's reflection,
forms a perfect heart in this image.

Moma swan is good and life is beautiful!!

I am so happy to be sharing Papa swans beautiful heart with
Clytie at Random Hearts
follow the link, check it out and share some love!!

Seems by blog is doing all sorts of weird things on other people's sites, too. There really should be obedience classes for blogs -come, sit, stay, PLAY NICE!

Aren't swans monogamous, too? I geuss the daddy knows how to care for his 'wife' and babies. Love the heart!

Those are spectacular pictures. I love the Papa Swan and heart; just so precious. I too love nature and am grateful that you take these beautiful photos. I love how the birds show such loving care to their little eggs and or fledglings and each other.
Blessings for this one!

Ahh. Beautiful pictures. But you are correct, it is the emotions the pictures invoke. Such love and commitment.

Oh how just simply wonderful to log in this morning and find your post Debbie.
After seeing those first photos of your beautiful sitting swan I wondered if you lived near enough to her to keep an eye on her progress... but didn't ask you the question.
It's an incredible experience isn't it and they will remember you now and know you intend no harm. I love how swans are mates for life and it's thrilling to be able to follow your discovery of this lovely time in nature :D) xx

As beautiful and graceful as swans look, they can become downright nasty and some may even give chase. I know this from first hand experience of trying to get to close to a swan family years ago.
