The Inlet in the evening gives off a totally different vibe than it does during the day.
I was so surprised to see the big ships going out, all lit up.
I have to say I was in awe of how beautiful they looked,
and how much I admire those men going out to sea so late in the evening.
The Swaggy B came first, I have seen this fishing boat before during the day, it looked different at night.
This is the Northstar Voyager, I have never seen this vessel before.
It is a 145' Class Lift Boat.
This massive boat is 91' long, has a max working depth of 100' and has a 50 ton primary crane.
What I think it does:
It appears to be a vessel that lifts heavy objects from the ocean floor utilizing it's onboard 50 ton crane.
In order to stabilize itself,
those three tall pilings mechanically drop vertically into the ocean until they reach the ocean floor.
Once the pilings are set on the ocean floor, they actually lift the vessel out of the water,
suspending it above the water and whatever it is attempting to lift with the 50 ton crane.
Once it's mission is complete,
the stabilizing pilings lift vertically out of the water so the vessel can travel to it's port or next salvage job.

Great captures of the boats at night!
Take care, have a great day!
Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures....
I totally agree when we watch the boats up in Michigan on the Great Lakes it is so much prettier at night, even the barges going down the Mississippi look very cool at night. How fun to see one you haven't seen before, it really amazes me the engineering that goes into those boats that lift up like that
