Saturday Critters ~ 274 ~

My yard birds are still a little scarce here at the homestead.
I have had hawks before but I have never experienced such "low attendance" at the feeders,
for such an extended period of time.
I miss the normal routine,
I miss complaining about filling the feeders more than once per day.
I miss knowing I could pick up the camera at any time of day and have "someone" to photograph.

I always have a lot of House Finches and they hang around in spite of the hawk.
When the sun was out the boys came by and posed for a photo shoot.

When they land in the "far away" tree, the pictures look like this.

Zooming in, I can get this close.

The next day it was raining and the girls came out to play...

They landed in the "up close" tree and I don't have to zoom but a little bit to get this close.

Pretty soon the boys and girls will be playing together - and you know what that leads to.

Love the one bent down with his little head cocked like he is trying to figure it out.

Great pictures, as expected when I visit your blog. I had a pair of House Finches at my feeder the other day and got excited. First ones I've seen since last fall.

BEAUTIFUL shots. Birds have just started moving back in around here. Nice hearing them out there singing as they fly around. Lily loves sitting on moms deck watching them.

They may be but what you've shared is wonderful. I actually have been hearing more around here too and their cover is great.

You take the most beautiful close ups! Look at all those delicate feathers. The goldfinches have just returned to our feeders this week...if you have any bird see to spare! heehee! Some even have bright yellow already. We are pleased! Enjoy your week sweet friend!

Oh wow these are great especially the one with his head bent that is so cute, ours have been a little scarce too but I think it is the neighbors cats who like to spend their days in our yard...
