My Memory Jar

For my entire life, I have always been a keeper of mementos.
I record memories in scrapbooks
and I keep all those little things that will remind
me of special trips and events!

The last few years, I have been making...

Memory Jars

When we go away, I like to bring home little mementos from the trip.
Tickets, post cards, room keys, shells...a starfish,
small reminders to add to my memory jar for that year.
You can and I do, also add any small reminder from a fun event at home
like a mini-golf score card, movie ticket stubs or that fun sugar stirrer that my friend Anna gave me.

If you are interested in making a Memory Jar, I shared my idea here.

Here is a picture of all the fun "little things" I brought home from my trip to Canada.
Room keys, admission tickets for all the attractions, Canadian money,
my wrist band from zip-lining, our "We-Go" passes,
our orange tour guide buttons,
a pressed coin and those "heart keys" I will tell you about tomorrow.

Everything fit nicely in the jar
with just enough room left for a few more fun memories!
Don't miss tomorrows entry,
about what those fun heart keys are for!

Where DO you keep this jars--all these jars?
I have smaller jars, filled with sand and shells and a note pasted on the bottom which beach I was at when I picked them up.
I could have a memory jar for each year--instead of letting all those things pile up on the scrapbook I never seem to get done.

That is a novel idea! I used to love to save post cards, but I don't see them much anymore.

That's wonderful, Debbie. Now, I'm thinking instead of trying to put a million loose pictures into more photo albums, I could make a jar each designated to the family of each. Thank you!!

this is a great idea, I have things scattered everywhere, thinking I might put them in a scrapbook but just don't have time for that, with the amount of cards I make. Good idea to have a jar to keep them all in :) Wow you went Zip lining, I don't think I would have the guts to do that

I love the idea of a memory jar and I like the items that you collect to put into them. I used to collect items and put them in a scrapbook; but I like the memory jar idea better. You are amazing! Hugs for you~
