Walking around the yard recently, camera in hand, not too much is blooming.
I have a lot of knockout roses that are looking pretty shabby
because I have not been pruning or deadheading them.
The daylilies look about the same.
I have an immense love/hate relationship with my daylilies
and this is about the time of summer where the hate part of that relationship kicks in.
One show stopper in the yard right now are the
Rose of Sharon
When the flower blooms, the bees come uninvited!!

Hi Debbie!:) There are three show stoppers here:) the rose, the bee, and your fantastic photos of him taking a bath in pollen, and this pretty Rose of Sharon will be blooming somewhere else next year for someone else to enjoy. Really superb shots Debbie.:)

Now will he be able to take off Debbie?

i love these! great focus on the bee and pollen and the way the petals fade into softness...
The hive will be happy when the bee returns. Amazing macros Debbie.
My rose of sharon bushes are going crazy this year! That picture of the bee is fabulous.
Awesome pics!!! Wow she is just loading herself down with that pollen, that is so cool, I have never seen them with that much pollen before. Wishing you well tomorrow!
Wow! these pictures are amazing...
Hello, the deer always eat our dayliles. They do not last long. It is good to keep the bees happy. Lovely images, Debbie! Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!
Beautiful shots. Long live the pollinators.
Gee whiz, what a cool capture!
WOW...look at the cute little guy...working hard:)!!
These shots are INCREDIBLE!!!! I love watching these guys do their work - the whole bee/pollen thing fascinates me. That last shot where he's just covered amazes me - I often wonder what they do with it ... and have this image in my head of them landing somewhere and shaking like a dog that just got out of the water. I know. I'm so scientific!
These are great shots!! It's interesting how they cover themselves with pollen.
Oh wow! Debbie these are absolutely stunning close up shots of the bees covered in pollen!
Fantastic!
Have a fun week!

Your Rose of Sharon is just beautiful, Debbie. Ours has not bloomed yet, but when it does, it is usually really beautiful.
