I don't think my Woodpeckers stayed with me this summer.
I had not noticed they were gone,
until they started to return in Autumn.
I saw one in the tree outside my window and I thought...
"I have not seen one of you in a long time,
yet I did not realize you were missing"!
So were they gone? I'm not really sure but they are here now,
and they are posing beautifully for pictures.
This is a Female Downy Woodpecker
I had the window open for theses images,
she stayed for about 30 seconds,
just long enough to capture these pretty images,
as she showed off all her sides!
No cropping was needed and these pictures are not edited.

Debbie, these are all fantastic shots of the pretty Downy woodie.. Well done, was it cold hanging out the window? Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Excellent! One of my favorites! She posed very nicely! The woodpeckers have been a bit scarce here this winter. I don't seem them daily as in the past.
This is a darling of a bird and you are so fortunate to have this come to your garden. These are fabulous images. Have a wonderful weekend.

Wow - Such nice shots of the little Downy! It's always nice when one can open a window for photos. They're a lot of fun to have around.
So sweet and pretty. Perhaps they were there all along and just quiet?
She's a beauty! She's posing very prettily for you.
Excellent shots ! This bird is beautiful !
Have a happy weekend :)
What a pretty little thing and your pictures are brilliant.
Debbie, this little one is just adorable. I don't think I've seen such a small woodpecker.
So, so cute. I've never seen one! You captured her beautifully. :)

Hi Margaret!
Lovely bird.
I am delighted with your photographic series.
It's wonderful.
I wish you a nice Sunday.
Greetings.
Lucia
Awesome photos of the female downy through your window. The best I can do is on our peanut feeder as the trees are too far away even with my telephoto lens.
Lovely photos, Debbie. Downies are such sweet birds! I have them at my feeder all year long. We serve shelled raw peanuts. ;)
I think he came, he took pictures of you and beautiful. :)
She looks a little model, posing every which way!
So pretty Debbie ... it looks like she rather fancied being your model. You took some beauties of her too. I so admire the patterns on the underside of her tail - exquisite!
Enjoy your weekend :D)
Interesting little patch of feathers just above it's bill that I never noticed before. Great pictures Debbie!
Gorgeous pictures of the downy, Debbie! I am so glad they have come back to visit you!
She really was showing off, wasn't she! I love the third picture - so beautiful :) Hugs to you!
Awww Sweetness itself!:) They are all gorgeous images.
Very beautiful thank you :)
It's woodsy where I live, and we are surrounded by woodpeckers all year. My feeders are popular places for them during the winter. I love them so much! These are beautiful photos.
♥ Omgosh I so love Downy Woodpecker they're so adorable and those photo shots showed her off perfectly well. ♥
Adorable sweet little thing. I just adore every turn of his/her head. Too cute. You are so lucky to capture this.
Very cute, allowed to take lots of pictures :))
Oh how sweet. We don't have any of those critters down here.
She did stay still and pose for you. Nice shots. I notice as they approach the feeder, they hang on the pole for what seems like forever, head looking back and forth as if to make sure the coast is clear.
Those photos are absolutely magnificent!
These photos are wonderful! What a pretty little bird that is!
Lovely shots of the woodpecker, Debbie! You put those 30 seconds to very good use!
