Song-ography ~ Proud ~ Edition 37

What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Momma swan was so proud to bring her baby over to the shoreline to see us.

She had nine cygnets, only one is left...

 Still, she is so proud...

guiding the baby on to the shoreline,
so we could see it.

 Loving, protective, and very proud.

The baby cygnets are so sweet and so innocent...
but as the circle of life spins,
they can be taken from mom and dad in an instant.

She keeps a watchful eye on us...but always seems to trust us,

and then our visit is over.

We need a change, so do it today...
'Cause I can see a clear horizon

Just make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud...

Swans are very beautiful and proud birds.
You got very lucky, you saw a tiny baby great birds.
Debbie, your pictures as usual are very beautiful.
I send greetings from distant Polish for you and your husband.

Wonderful photos, Debbie! That baby is so cute. I wonder what happened to the rest of them? I sure hope this one survives.

Precious. Perfect. Nothing like that maternal pride!! I took a bit of a different hike today - so no swan updates on this end...might venture out in the moring if it stays as nice as it is right now. Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Parental pride...spans the species. Fantastic shots. Wish I could see something like this in person. Glad to see you back at Song-ography...you were missed :).

Hi,
I'm a new follower. Your pictures are so clear and so beautiful. I live close to Lake Huron and I go watch one swan family a lot. I am surprised you got that close. I don't think our swan pair had any survivors this year. There would already be babies with them and there are none so far. I look forward to visiting again.

Just darling! I love how many pictures she allowed you to get. It is always so sad when the baby ducks, geese and swans don't make it because of turtles and snakes, and whatever other predator comes around! This cygnet is lovely and will someday soon be another lovely swan!
