Friday, was a gorgeous day, sunshine, blue skies,
with temperatures hovering right around 70 degrees.
It was, what we call, a picnic day!
We packed up some drinks and treats,
stopped for a Jersey Mikes Sub (I know my sister is drooling)
and it wasn't long before we ended up here...
in our favorite picnic spot!
One picnic...
plus a ride on these...on our favorite bike path = one perfect day!
We also checked in on our swan family...
Momma swan brought the babies right over to see us.
Only four are left, from the nine that were born...
They get bigger every day...
and even more adorable!!
Like any young one, they don't sit still for pictures,
this one was tired and started dozing off.
Poppa swan is injured, I'm sure this happened while protecting
those precious little ones.
On the way home we stopped to photograph the horses,
I shared yesterday.
As we headed in, I was exhausted, but in the very best way possible!!

Jersey Mikes??? Want!!! You just cannot get a good sub in Maryland. Subway is ok, but it ain't Jersey. When I first moved here, I found a sub place and asked for a capicola
on it. And they didn't know what that was. Knew then that I was in trouble.
LoVE YoUR PoST xx, m
Oh I want a sub now:) This looks and sounds like the perfect day for the two people I love to see enjoy life. That is what life is all about enjoying life and each other no matter what is thrown at us. You two make it look easy. HUG B
How wonderful. I have never heard of Jersey Mikes, so I googled it. Who knew? Are they like a Philly hoagie? Love those little swan pics.
I just loved reading about your picnic day. Perfect - and so says the smiles from each of you :D)
Your babies are looking cuter every time you visit. Shame about the depleted numbers though - it must've been harsh for them because they do everything to protect their young don't they.
Hugs :D)
Debbie, the picnic sounds like fun! And the sub must be yummy! I love the baby swans, they are adorable! Do you ride your bikes on the road to get to this spot? Awesome photos! Have a happy day!
NOthing to beat a picnic, throw in some very cute babby swans and the day is perfect.
I do declare, you two are almost as cute as the swans. :-)
You sure got some wonderful images of the cygnets!!! I am sorry they have already lost more than half their brood!!!
I love the horses, especially your close-ups with those luxurious manes!!!
And the robin in the birdbath is so cute!!! I love all the water drops he is flinging about!!
I love enjoying others' perfect days just as much as I love my own.
Many thanks for sharing with us.

i hope the babies will make it (and poppa recovers, too). you look very happy. :)
How fun! I haven't been on a picnic in years. Those little baby swans are darling. So glad you were able to get the closeup photos.
The picnic sounds great -- except we here in South Jersy say hoagie, not sub! Those baby swans are just adorable, but they grow too fast. Glad you had such a wonderful day!
I love picnics, but I need to sit at a table. If I sat down like that, I would never be able to get up! The swan babies are adorable, Too bad they lost 5, that's sad.

It looks like you had such a beautiful day for your picnic, Debbie, and I so enjoy seeing these sweet little swans here.
You guys had the perfect day!! The swans are so graceful and you photographed the little babies beautifully. So sad that poppa is injured and some of the chicks didn't make it. Nature can be cruel. But I loved reading about your day and seeing your marvelous photos!
What a great idea to spend free time and good rest :)
Greetings

I don't know what Jersey Mikes taste like, but I'm sure they're good! Looks like a perfect day for a picnic. Hope the cute little baby swans make it and that papa swan does too!
You two have such fun and I love the adventures you take.
I hope my husband can retire soon and we can enjoy more time out and about.
I of course, loved the Swan pictures; they were spectacular. You get the best shots ever. The babies are so adorable.
Blessings for this one!
What a nice day you have.
Baby-swan, mmmmmmmm..... so pretty :)
Picnics are so fun and it looks like you have a perfect spot to enjoy yours. Those swans are so sweet. I'm sad that so many are gone already and that daddy swan was hurt.
Awe what cute babies! Jersey Mikes is my favorite place, I so wish one was close to us here in Southwest Wisconsin.
Oh Debbie, what a lovely picnic day! I love that the two of you bicycled to the perfect spot and enjoyed the afternoon. Great photos of the swans, too, especially those signets!
Sounds like a wonderful day!
