Doe A Deer...

a female deer.

She sees and acknowledges me right away!

She checks to be sure I pose no threat,

and starts to move a little closer.

I whisper softly to her as she enjoys munching on the grass,

after a few minutes, she scampers off to be closer to the herd!

A magical moment on September 1, 2013

Great photos, although Ms. Doe does look a bit on the thin side. Maybe its all the Wisconsin beer and cheese that puff up our deer!!!

Lovely photos Debbie -- she looks so thin. Maybe you could offer up some of your cooking to the crowd? :)

You did a great job in capturing her! Love the way she's in the foreground with the herd behind her. She picks at the grass so delicately--I love watching them eat. I wonder why she's so thin?

Do, re, mi, fa, so, la, te---I'll be singing it all night now. :-)

Wow there were quite a number of deer in this little herd. How exciting to see so many at once.
Loved your photos.

Oh pretty! Those deer must know you're a gentle soul - I think they'd run from me before I'd get a shot off!

With my camera, that is (whew - of course!)

The deer look so thin this year. I think the winter was hard on them. I had an 8 point buck in the yard this afternoon but no camera handy. He was a handsome fellow though.
