Saturday Critters #598

Our Egrets arrived a few weeks ago and I am seeing them everywhere.
There were at least 4 Egrets here at Debbie's Creek on May 19th, sporting their mating plumage.
Lores, the area around the eye, turn green and they display long dark plumes beyond their tail.

We stumbled upon this body of water on April 20th while out for a drive.
There were several Great Egrets here that I photographed.
I would like to go back, but I can't remember where I was!

I have never taken a good flight of any bird...
I took these 2 and was thrilled with them.

Living by the ocean and in sea shore communities, I see a lot of this....

and this, it is a beautiful place to call home!

The skelly is fun. Bird wings opened, very pretty.

Fantastic photos of the Egret Debbie and interesting sights around. Pretty scene across the water, loved the little boat planter and the pirate made me cringe and laugh at the same time. You live in an area full of interesting photo ops. I've enjoyed them all.

I do miss seeing the egrets and so enjoyed your photos, Debbie. When we lived in VA we would make frequent trips to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. Your flight shots were great!

Debbie - congrats on getting those Egrets in flight! Beautiful shots!

I did not know about the breeding plumage, especially the green area near the eyes. Fascinating!

I am joining you from Saturday's Critter's this week!
