Diversions...

- Simple Pleasures -
Life holds many, sometimes they are right in front of you, sometimes you have to look for them.

This Chickadee came and sat by the window, waiting patiently to have it's picture taken.

It chirped it's little song, "chickadee-dee-dee-dee".
I am spending more time at the window, and really enjoyed my time with this sweet little bird!

Our skies and cloud formations have been so delightful lately,
almost every day I see something different.
On this day the sky looked like a grouping of cotton balls.

I have been knitting...

working on the Northwind Cowl
Knitted with Berroco Vintage Yarn
Machine washable, 52% Acrylic, 40% Wool and 8% Nylon
Even though it is machine washable, I would definitely hand wash this item, it is almost done.

Laying around the cowl are some flowers I dried, mostly Paperwhites.
I thought it would be fun to dry some flowers and see what I could use them in/for.
You would certainly agree that I need another hobby.

I have been working on cleaning up the pictures on my computer, does that sound familiar?
I am always doing that!
I made a deal with myself that I would go through one "old month" of pictures each day.
I have already failed at that, but not horribly.
This time, I started with around 40,000 and I am down to 32,552, good, but I have a long way to go.
Right now I am looking at pictures from August 2019.
One thing I have really enjoyed about this project,
is seeing all of the places we go and the things we do.
If you ever feel a little blue, are confined to home, or want to take a trip and are not able to,
go through the pictures on your computer, they will bring you so much joy!

Working through the images, I saw this postcard and I am so glad I took a picture of it.
From our trip to Mohonk Mountain House
"Send A Postcard To The Future"
Use this card to share your memories and thoughts about Mohonk for our
Time Capsule
which won't be opened for 100 years.

Was this not the best ides ever?! I was thrilled to participate.
I hope my future friends enjoy my message.

My favorite beach,
Howe Street Beach in Bay Head, New Jersey
has placed these painted shells along the sand doons to replicate the Ukraine Flag.

How wonderful is this...
whomever is doing this shell art is a wonderful person.

The hubs bought me these beautiful flowers, just because he loves me.
Or maybe because I mentioned how nice it is to have a vase filled with fresh flowers in the house.

- sometimes the smallest things, take up the most room in your heart -

Oh my, that is a lot of pictures! I have never even taken that many in a whole life time but them I am not a very good photographer. It does seem that the little Chickadee made the cutes pose. The flowers are beautiful and am sure they smell wonderful.

Your pictures sounds like Greg's :) He still hasn't gone through all the ones from trips long ago, but like you said when we go through them and remember all the good times it is sure nice to relive them.
As I just looked out now to our suet feeder I saw a yellow finch, can you believe that, so nice the weather will be getting nicer and you can have the window open without freezing, the clouds are so pretty like that.
It is so special to see all the support for Ukraine and all that people are doing.
Your hubby is the greatest giving you those flowers. You can use your dried flowers on cards. I have also taken mine and used glue and put them on a glass candle holder

What a sweet post -- it made me smile. And I agree with everything you mention. Sorting, labeling, tossing pictures is definitely a love/hate thing. A person can only do so much of it at a time ... I'll be loving it one moment -- enjoying old memories like you say and then suddenly I'll be tearing out my hair or beating my head on the keyboard when I realize how never ending the job is.

I so very much agree. We are surrounded by little joys but we must take time to notice them.

The shell art is wonderful.. reminds you that when everything else is going to hell in a handbasket there is still kindness and hope in the world.

Oh what fun to send a postcard to the future. I have never been great at capturing good pictures and rarely take trips. Maybe that is why I visit your site. :) It is wonderful to see what you share. I love the shells. Praying for Peace for Ukraine.

That little Chickadee is precious. I can see why you love to watch and take photos of all the birds. I think your Northwind Cowl is beautiful, I love the color. It's perfect for you!! I think it is wonderful that a person would paint the sea shells and share them with everyone.
I need to go through all my photos too. I think you are doing great at getting the amount down. I'm sure it is wonderful to enjoy the precious memories of your trips and adventures.
Your flowers are beautiful. You do have a one of a kind husband. You are blessed!
Sending hugs to you two!
