Saturday Critters ~ 372 ~

We went for a car ride on Thursday and ended up at
Lake of the Lilies.
I was hoping to see the Wood Ducks but they were not there or perhaps I just didn't see them.

The lake is big, beautiful and a really pretty blue...most of the ducks here swim in the center.

The Greater Scaup

There were so many other ducks, the Mergansers included,
I took a lot of pictures of them but the water was so choppy, they are all blurry.

Two different Mallard Ducks with a similar pose.

These ducks were back, they always hang out together and were not here the last time I visited.

I always put the window down to take pictures but they think it is to feed them food.
As we roll forward to leave they all chase us/follow us.

A beautiful group of ducks, they are always in the same spot.

ps...there are signs here that you are not allowed to feed them, I don't, even though I would love to!!

Hello, Debbie,
Great shots of the Mallards and the pretty Scaup. I wish they ducks would come closer, they do seem to stay in the center or the other side of the water. It is nice you were able to take a car ride and get outdoors! Beautiful collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post! Take care, enjoy your weekend! PS, thank you for visiting and for the comment.

So those guys didn't leave for good then, wow there is a lot of them isn't there. Sounds like they are very use to being fed by humans. There are some places here that ask you not to feed them because they expect it and forget how to look for food on their own. I hear you all are getting some cold weather, hope you get your snow with it.

Hello Debbie, The blue water of the lake is beautiful. Very sharp images of all the ducks. I have never seen the Scaup before, love it's yellow eyes and pale blue beak, and all the detail you caught with the close up pictures of the Mallard feathers.

Debbie... shame on you. You need to take those duckies some food so they won't chase you!

It looks great there without snow. Love the look of that tall straw grass and that great scaup. The ducks here move away if you go anywhere near their area.

Wow, I love all the photos of the ducks all together. You can see clearly the make and females. Of course, I wouldn't know about the difference except for you telling about them. We have some around here; but recently they disappeared and our neighbor has been looking for them. I do hope they come back, because we enjoy them so much!
Thanks for these photos today! Hugs~
