Yesterday we drove down to Point Pleasant to see the Inlet,
I heard the area around the big fishing boats was frozen and I wanted to see it
- it wasn't -
But that was ok, there were so many other things to see and photograph by the water.
The Herring Gulls were so friendly,
they each grab a piling and they seem content for hours.
They are a large, robust gull with pink legs!
Their head and neck has brown streaks in winter, in summer, it is pure white.
All of the fishing boats were docked, most had men working on them.
There was only a small area of ice, between the smaller boats!

Herring Gulls are a wonderful part of any small harbour.
Good morning Debbie! Oh my gosh kind of a shy one in these photos, yet your first shot is just priceless, very cute. Love the ships in view too! Enjoy.

Oh, how I miss the harbors and herring gulls! When I lived in MD, we had gulls everywhere. I miss their "screeching" as they fly around! Thanks for sharing your lively photos!
