Yesterday I worked on a small project with an autumn theme.
This is a kit from Heavens to Betsy that I purchased at
The Sheep & Wool Festival
You remember The Sheep & Wool Festival? Rhinebeck, New York?...
It's all I ever talked about...
Well, that's over but it sure was nice to have this project to work on...
and reminisce about the trip.
Candle Mat / Mug Rug
- just what I need -
hehehe
Everything you need is included with the kit...
It only took a few hours to complete and I think it came out lovely.
It probably needs pressing, and that would require an iron...
I don't think I have an iron,
yep, pretty sure I don't have one of those, I'll set it under some books!
I am still working on the Blue Chevron Baby Blanket.
It is almost done.
I have begun preparation for my first sweater, I had to knit two swatches to determine size...
those swatches determined that I needed thicker yarn,
for the pattern I had chosen.
Leanne recommended a yarn that was 100% wool and I'm not sure about using wool.
I put on my thinking cap, I am trying to decide if that will be soft enough!

Hello, I like your cute candle/mug rug. I have an iron somewhere, I do not use it. Enjoy your day and week ahead.
You GO GIRL....I love that you are getting so much crafty stuff done. Love the kit for the mug rug. Nice job.
Good morning, sweet Debbie! I am loving your cute candle mat! What a fun project and I must say it turned out perfectly :)
Wishing you a delightful day. Hugs!
Those are super cute!!
I love seeing the things you make, Debbie! I also love the previous post, very very pretty ocean pictures...wow, the sky that day!!! Also thank you so much for the kind words during the sad time. It's been rough, but I am getting through it. Bindie and Tammie surely have lessened the sadness.....
The mat is lovely and so practical!
I love the pretty mat, the yarn color and the baby blanket. I am thinking I might take up knitting one of these days. I never learned and they say it is never too late to do that right? :) Wanted to pop by and thank you for telling us about your past visits to Peddler's Village. I have been taking notes all this time and we finally went there a few days ago. I have just written a post about it. What a great place to visit!
Ahh - super adorable mat! No iron? - lol - I like your style!! I'm impressed that you'll be making a sweater. I love wool, but I guess it depends which kind. Some are kind of itchy while others can be pretty soft. So many choices and decisions!
Gorgeous
So cute!!! I would be too hot in 100% wool, plus, I tend to miss my mouth and make messes on my front and couldn't afford to get it dry cleaned all the time.
I think your hands must never be idle which is a very good thing. keep enjoying Debbie
Te quedó preciosa. Y es muy encilla de hacer.
Besos.
You always have some great projects. I do think the fall kit came out lovely. Yes, putting them under books should work. I’ve done that before. I do find people don’t iron much these days. The swatches look nice. I will look forward to your post on the progress of your sweater. I am sure it will be spectacular and you will need to model it.
Sending loving thoughts and hugs your way!
Usually I kind of just skim your yarn along posts because I don't, can't, won't (all of the above) sew or knit.... I always admire your color choices and your talent. But today I had to comment because the 'no iron'made me laugh .... I don't have one of those either. (same three words: don't can't won't .... but I used to! Never again though (I hope).
I do like the Candle Mat / Mug Rug, and the colours are just great aren't they!
All the best Jan
Very cute, and I laughed out loud that you don't have an iron …. we've come a long way, baby!
