Feeding The Jays...

The falling leaves in the back yard provided a pretty backdrop for my images today.

My Blue Jays are pretty spoiled in the food department.
I lay out peanuts on the deck rail for them, and in turn, they pose nicely for pictures.

Junior the squirrel was also in on the action...
he battles it out with the Jays, but honestly, there is always enough for everyone!

  1. I just got my bird feeder out hung up yesterday. It doesn't take the birds long to catch on to the free food.

  2. Your Blue Jays are very pampered! But they return the favour with their scintillating beauty. A friend of mine made a really long feeder from which to dispense peanuts in the shell. Yesterday at one point I had three birds on it at the same time. Red-breasted Nuthatches have also taken to it with great gusto.

  12. Hi Debbie...your blue jays are prettier than ours here ..(I do see the kind you have sometimes when we’re in Florida.). I am still here and still safe ...I have figured out that all the people who are having trouble commenting on mine are using Blogspot. It’s one step forward, we’re still working on it.

  21. I do love the blue jays! I can imagine the battles between the birds and squirrels. I've seen blue jays "dive bomb" squirrels, before. I'm not sure there is ever a clear winner in this one.
