Saturday Critters ~ 243 ~

In animal symbolism, the Blue Jay resonates truth,
faithfulness and solidarity because they are vigilant in their tasks.
They also keep the same mate for life,
which is symbolic of endurance, patience and loyalty.

They love peanuts...

and can fit up to 3 peanuts in their beak at one time.

In the spiritual realm, the blue jay speaks of clarity and vision!

It is indeed one our most familiar birds and certainly one of our most handsome.

Now that's a perfect character for humans too! These photos are wonderful, and where you caught him with a peanut in the mouth his expression is priceless! It's all mine, not sharing one crumb of it!

These are spectacular photos of this beautiful Blue Jay. These are some of my favorite colors. Of course, I loved reading about the listed qualities of this bird. I love that they have a lifetime mate. Amazing that they can hold that many peanuts in their peaks.
I like the descriptive words; faithfulness, loyalty, solidarity, endurance, patience, clarity and vision. I wish many would have these qualities in their lives.
Sending loving thoughts and hugs your way!

Great shots.. esp the ones of the bird looking into the camera with a peanut in its mouth.

I have always liked blue jays. When I would say this, most folks would kinda make a face and like "ooo no they are MEAN!!". I still think they are so pretty! Love your pictures of them! How are the "butterfly babies"?

Peanuts?? Haha...wow. Great shots! I did not know about this symbolism. Good to know!

Also, your post today is so wise. I just wanted to say that, but it looks like you have quietly and serenely turned off the comments. :-) Enjoy your break!

I did not know these things about the blue jay (excep how pretty they are and how much they love peanuts)...so this was my one new thing to learn today (and it’s nearly bedtime, so you can tell what kind of day it’s been )).
