I get that question a lot, so here you have it,
just a few of the one million pictures I have taken of the Hummingbirds this summer!
If you have never seen one, it is difficult to imagine how small they are.
They are small in size, but huge in personality!
And this one, what a ham...

That is her tongue.....
some weird contortions...
and then she ended our photo secession with a wink - as if to say "did you get all that"??

Wonderful photos. I am always in awe when I see a hummer in flight.
Love those captures, especially the tongue.
I hadn't seen a hummer until well into adulthood, and I was almost moved to tears when I did see one. Then, there used to be a bunch at the cottage, and that was really nice.
Sorry about the kidney stones. I had a 5-day episode earlier this year. For the first 4 days, I thought it was just a bad flu. The only thing that would help was hot baths -- about 5 per day. Have I said this before? lol
what a lucky/licky shot...getting 'im with his tongue out. Cool
Hello, Debbie. I am not sure if your photos are all of a female hummers. The second and third photos show a tiny dot in the middle of the throat. That could be a sign of a juvie male Ruby-throated hummmer. Your photos are gorgeous, great captures.
Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!
Fabulous photos, Debbie. Love those precious birds and you capture them perfectly!
Stunning shots, and I love the lighting.
Have a good week , Gordon.
there a lot of pics of them, on the wing.
But who has taken pics of them, at rest???????
So these are amazing photos!!!!
Once again, Debbie, you share the love for the hummingbirds. I love each photo! :)
xoxo
I am impressed by the long tongue of this amazing bird! =)
Ohhhh, fantastic pictures.
Koliber is a very beautiful bird.
Greetings, Debbie:)
As we don't have the pleasure of seeing hammers in Ireland, I am thrilled to see them on your blog, Debbie! What a great series!
Oops! We do see hammers but not hummers! That darned autocorrect!!
Great Debbie series. You got it right !!
Good tuesday.
Besos.
Super shots Debbie, Loving the one with her tongue. I've seen a couple of Hummingbrids this summer but they never land anywhere where I can photograph them. - You are so lucky to get this chance.
Oh, this one has personality plus. I just can't imagine how you are able to get these kinds of shots. They are beyond spectacular; especially the tongue one.
You are just so amazing at photography. Just a side note, we actually had a hummingbird fly into our house and get caught behind a blind. My dear hubby helped it get back outside. Of course, I didn't have a camera handy.
Blessings and hugs!
Oh I love Hummers! They are so beautiful and FAST. So much fun to watch.
A ham for sure. Sticking out its tongue at you.
Hey--how are the caterpillars doing?
Great shots. Yes,they are so tiny but they come with a big attitude.
These are totally fantastic, how cool that you can capture them when they are sitting still, the ones here seem to always be in motion, I haven't had any luck getting good pics, I wait to late in the evening and the lighting isn't good at all, Greg says I need to update my camera if I want to get those kind of pictures and I told him I am fine with what I got, LOL :)
That one with her tongue sticking out is just priceless, I haven't seen one like that before!! You need to get a hold of a bird magazine and see if they want to buy your fabulous pictures :)
They sit still for you! And stick out their tongue!
Hey--how are the caterpillars doing?

Debbie, these are SO adorable!
The one with the tongue sticking out is just such perfect timing.
Prior to this year, I only saw one or two all summer, but this year, there were lots of them.
I could just watch them all day.
xo.
Fantastic! I like it when they stop and sit for a while. Natural setting photos are awesome. Great bokeh in these!
Fantastic series of photographs Debbie, such great shots!
