Summerfest

Our town hosts a few nice music festivals during the summer...
They are outdoor festivals, a few vendors, some food trucks,
great live music,  followed by beautiful fireworks.
But they are way too crowded for me...and it always seems they are the hottest summer nights.
So far, they have all been cancelled because of rain.
This past Thursday, it was on, but a big storm was predicted to hit around 9 pm,
just when they launch the fireworks.
They went ahead with the show, and lit the fireworks at 8:30.
We planned to drive across town, opposite the park, just to watch the fireworks.
We arrived just as they started to light them off...

Summerfest is held at a park on the Metedeconk River.
We found a perfect side street on the other side of town to view the fireworks.
We weren't alone, seems many residents had the same idea.
We went for Rita's Ice and the rain started as we were sitting in the car, enjoying our ice.

Good idea I had...
a great way to beat the heat, enjoy the fireworks, and no crowds!!

How fun you get to enjoy the fireworks more than just the 4th ;) Wow there were a lot of boats out there too wasn't there. Glad you were able to get it all in before the rain. Close by us there is a farm that has live music and things to do every friday and saturday nights but it has just been too HOT even in the evenings.

Here is Nashville we had what was called Summer Lights and was changed to CMAfest some time ago. Takes place the first of June when it is usually kicking hot and normally some rainy days. I have never been other then when it was right outside the bldg I worked in and I would take lunch the first day to go check it out. It is a big major deal in Nashville. I used to love things like that but these days, I don't do heat well and crowds seem to bother me now. That is probably part age but the biggest part the Fibro. Great pics. Thanks for you lovely comments on my blog. I push...I push to do things and get things done but if you saw my house you would not think so....

Oh yes, find a spot, to view from the car. People do that here, too!!!!

We 'did one night' of being IN the park, for the 4th of July fireworks. It was fun. A real home town celebration feel. Loved it. But once is enough. :-))))

Gentle hugs,
