Tidying Up the Garden

I call it a garden,
it's not really a garden but I need to have something growing at all times.
Something that I can tend to and take care of, something that is alive and growing.

I cleaned up the herbs...
and I am trying to train them to grow up.
I used the Parsley twice, it was very good and nice to have it right here in the house.

My Cyclamen has never been this big or healthy, doesn't it look great?
It has 2 purple flowers coming.

- and I have some great news to share -
My Orchid is not dead, it has this new shoot...

and this new shoot as well.
I am most excited about the Orchid,
I had my last one for so many years, I am thrilled this one is o.k.!

So, how about you guys, do you have house plants or indoor herbs growing?

  3. I used to have lots of house plants--not enough room here. I did have an orchid--for 3 years--it grew new leaves, but never blossomed again. Sigh.

  8. I have some lovely Orchids that have been performing at their very best for months now....they just keep on keeping. Your little herb garden in that lovely container is flourishing beautifully. Who would've thought you would have a purple cyclamen. =) I love cyclamens.

  10. I'm so envious at those of you with a green thumb. Our neighbor has now given us TWO orchids and I've managed to kill them both in a matter of weeks.

  11. Everything is looking fantastic, and so great when you can use them too.... I do love my plants, I have 6 myself, they say the plants clean the air in your home and that is always a good thing. I have a feeling we will be seeing some new flowers soon :)

  12. Fresh herbs are just the greatest and, for your cold and snowy season, perfect for keeping indoors. They look so happy in their pretty Herb Keeper. I love that trio, as well as Tarragon which I've started to use with fish in addition to Dill.
Yay for your orchid recovery! Plants always deserve a second chance at coming back - just like we humans.
How perfect... a purple Cyclamen - will look forward to a pic. Cheers now :D)

  13. It's so nice to have fresh herbs in the winter! I have an orchid that was a gift last fall. I've managed to keep it alive and I hope it re-blooms for me. How exciting to have a new shoot and your cyclamen is so pretty. I have some houseplants - the usual kinds - philodendrons, African violets, Christmas cactus, spider plants. I really need to re-pot them all, though! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! x K

  14. Luis Dean keeps aloe Vera plants in his music room. I had a ton of plants for years and years! They were all along the windows in my den and hanging ones as well. I finally got rid of them all.....every last one! Not sure what got into me but I had had it with being a caregiver to so many plants!
I do plant herbs but only outside.

  15. Looking good! You have the knack! I'm not a florist or gardener by any means. My only claim to fame is a Peace Lily that was given to me by my cousin and his wife as a house warming gift 22 years ago. It started out in a medium size pot and is now two separate plants in two large pots. Still going strong.

  16. Indoor herb gardens are just great!
So nice to be able to reach out and use your own when cooking!

    All the best Jan

  17. The way I see it, if it's growing, it's a garden!!! :-)
Your herbs look great, Debbie, and my cyclamen is doing great too this year. It is in full bloom, and is such a wonderful pop of color when everything else is so gray.

  20. You are so inspiring when it comes to your indoor herbal garden. I am so happy for you that the Orchid did die. I do think you have a green thumb and I wish I did. I have killed a lot of plants. However, right now I do have a Basil plant that is still alive after about three months. Thanks for inspiring me and I hope to have more at some point of time. Blessings and hugs~
