Our Very Own Farmers Market!!

There is something about those words...
Farmers Market
A variety of fresh, fun and fabulous...
it evokes a feeling of wonderment and excitement inside.

Here in our little town, after long anticipation,
we have our very own Farmers Market.
Every Saturday from now until September, 9 a.m. - noon.

Last Saturday was the first one and  I was very excited to arrive.
A yummy breakfast at the Cozy Kitchen was first.
We arrived around 11, I knew thought an hour would be plenty of time.

The sky looked like this as I got out of the car...

and the market like this, not very crowded at all.

And that's because this was the mantra of the day,
"Sold Out"
Not many of the venders were prepared for the support
from the local towns people.
Apparently,
you had to arrive at 8 a.m., to purchase any of the fresh baked pies,
breads and other wonderful, yummy, homemade goods.

Down to Earth had plenty of inventory,

 as did Lave Handcrafted soaps,

I was able to pick up a few of her yummy bars.

This, of course, was the highlight of the Market for me,
Moore Yarn
and she was not sold out of anything!!

I hit the jackpot...I did not "need" yarn,
but I did "need" all these wonderful little goodies!!
No...really I did!!

The Township promised next week will be more abundant,
that the vendors will be better prepared.

And lots of new invites are going out to local craftsmen
and farmers in the area!!!
Of course there will be lots of fresh produce,
as the growing season starts!!

I'm excited!!

Great photos Debbie and I am glad you came away with your soap and yarn. We have to get to our farmer's markets pretty early also. One of my favorites to come home with besides the fresh produce, is locally made honey. Have a great Sunday :)

I love getting up early on Saturday mornings driving to the famers market just a few miles. I go there mostly for yellow bell peppers but their always sold out so I planted a whole row of them this year along with some red & green bell peppers. I'm glad you found some knitting supplies. Bet it was cheaper then at the craft store.

I love a Farmers Market! The one in Dallas is HUGE and I don't go very often! There are some smaller ones in neighboring communities and after reading your post, I am determined to get up and GO to one some Saturday soon!

Our market doesn't start for two weeks yet, but we always try to get there by 9 am if we want the choice.

This is wonderful! I'm sorry that you missed out on a lot of the food, but that's a good thing that so much sold out! It will really be hopping this summer as the produce comes into season. I had to laugh at you and the yarn. That van probably drew you like a magnet. LOL

Looks like great fun, Debbie! I love the Farmer's Market, but ours probably won't "open" for another couple of weeks.

Hugs to you!

Super cool times at the Farmer's market always and each town around here has their own so it's like you can hit one a day if you want to and sometimes more!

I love to go to farmer's market; but haven't for a while. This reminded me to get busy and find one. I loved that you found some items from the Moore Yarn; awesome. Have fun next week and I will look forward to more lovely photos.
Hugs!

How exciting for you. We have a couple of local Farmer's Markets and I'm sad to say that I think I've only visited once. Perhaps I should go more often.
