This post is a "little" wordy...maybe a lot wordie, please read it, it is so worthy!
I like Valentines Day...for us, it is an easy holiday to celebrate.
Here, it's all about love.
I don't want a gift, flowers or jewelry...I do love a pretty card and we generally eat out.
In December, the hubs tried to make a dinner reservation at a restaurant we were curious about.
They had nothing available.
The girl suggested Valentines Day, 2 months away.
The hubs was going to wait until she said all she had left on Valentine's Day was 2:30, he grabbed it.
WoW!! that was a great decision, and the name of this restaurant you ask...
Two young, very happy people, dressed in their Valentines best, met us at the door.
We chatted for a minute and our table was ready.
A great table, by the window with an awesome view of the Point Pleasant Inlet.
If you have been following my blog for any length of time,
you know this is where the hubs and I went on our first date.
and these yummy onion rings.
I know they were yummy because I ate two of the four.
I had Pasta Carbonara with Filet Tips and Pancetta, it was heavenly.
Huge chunks of filet and big pieces of pancetta.
These are some pictures from the dining room...the ceiling was covered with the decore.
The wait staff was impeccable, the restaurant was exquisite, artistically decorated for the holiday.
I saw the deserts they were serving and they looked amazing, very elaborate, but we just couldn't do it.
Backing up just a tad, there seemed to be a little confusion about it being our anniversary, it was not.
I struck up a conversation with the lovely young lady who seated us...
and she asked if we were celebrating a birthday, or special occasion.
We both said no but I went on to say, you know I did, that we have been married for 48 years.
The girls announced to the entire restaurant that we have been married for 48 years.
Everyone in the restaurant clapped and cheered, even me.
There was more, I babbled and babbled and turned as red as my valentine napkin.
That young couple seated behind us were so sweet, congratulating us as we left.
we will be back!
Thank you everyone, even to the few people I did not meet!

What a great day! The decorations alone were wonderful…
What a lovely Valentines celebration. They sure went all out with the decorations and the food there.
My dads birthday was Valentines day and we took him out to dinner on year to celebrate. That was the last time ever that we tried to go out to eat on Valentines day. It was crazy.
What a lovely day! The decorations at the restraunt looked so festive too. The food looked amazing. 48 years should be celebrated - any day of the year - all the days. Congratulations on such an accomplishment!
I love every little bit of this post. Happy 48 years. Hugs. xx.
Hello,
Looks like a beautiful place, the decorations are lovely.
The food looks delicious too. Great photos of you and your husband. Happy 48 , wishing you many more happy years.
Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
Wow! Debbie, you and hubby fine the most amazing places! So glad you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. The announcement of your 48 years at the restaurant reminds me of what happened to us at a Luau in Hawaii. It was unexpected, embarrassing, but a fun memory. I'll have to post about it one day.
How marvelous! I'm bookmarking your post in case we ever make it up that way. We are always looking for fabulous special place restaurants and you have shared beautiful places. You both look so happy and that is always a joy to see. Happy 48th :) Thank you Debbie you for sharing this special occasion!
Congrats on 48 years, Debbie, and we have over 20 more to catch up with you. The restaurant and the food looked amazing and what a special way to celebrate V-Day with a mid-day meal, nice staff and great company ❤️

I think it was a beautiful day. You look happy.
Wow! Just wow!
Wow! I've never seen such a beautifully decorated restaurant -- definitely worth returning! Not to mention, for the food! I'm curious how it looks on, you know, just a regular Friday night, not a Holiday time. What a lovely day you had!
for christmas it looked similar. lot's of reds and greens. i think a lot of the christmas ornaments stayed up and they added the pinks and the hearts. this stays up until 2/23 and then they redo it in all shades of green for St. Patrick's day. i have seen pictures of that is is just gorgeous. maybe then...the decorate for easter.

Wow I can't imagine decorating that place, it sure is pretty, how neat to have a seat by the window and enjoy the view. The meal looks like it was really nice. So neat they brought out a celebration dessert for how long you have been married :)
The smiles on your faces say it all and look at that spud. LOVE how big it is. Sounds like an excellent time. Though the girl in the back doesn't look none too happy. In the red dress.
Flowers there look great. Love the heart menu too!
oooooh that young girl was so nice. after the whole anniversary debacle, she stood up and spoke to me, her boyfriend too!! they were so happy for us, it's what they are hoping for. i said what i always say "it won't always be easy...but it will always be worth it!! the picture did not convey her spirit!!
Incredible decorations! The food looks good too
