Picking the Perfect Nut...

It's a lot of work, you know.
Researching, inspecting, shaking and a little taste testing.
The Bluejays are experts!!

So here we go, in the order they were taken on

And yes, he was swallowing them whole,

Good Morning, Debbie.. Awesome sequence on the Blue Jay and his feast of peanuts.. It is funny how they seem to weigh them.. I am not sure if they swallow them whole though..I thought they took them somewhere and came back for more. Great photos! Have a happy day!

They sure are, and they come out of who knows where the second we put peanuts out! Like peanut butter on a mouse trap! You photos are just simply dreamy! Lovely, lovely!

He's so cute, picking the one he wants! :-) Beautiful photos of him, Debbie. Come on out to AZ! :-) I think my recent posts have shown people they should check out some of the more obscure places. :-)

He is a handsome fellow!

He's like the squirrels in Wonka's factory.

The bird expert that was leading the hawk watch I (sort of) participated in explained that birds have a breathing tube, just like snakes, that allows them to breathe while they swallow such things. He was full of incredible information.

How exciting. Here I get crows eating the peanuts I leave out but they do manage to crack theirs open.
