Canadian Geese

So common in New Jersey, I rarely give the
Canada Goose a second look.

I see them at every turn in the ponds, at our parks,
grazing on lawns...
and always flying overhead with their loud honking noise.

But today was different.
I saw them in a different light and they looked beautiful.

This was a fun series to photograph, I hope you enjoy it.

One at a time, they each took there turn,
it was fascinating to watch.

And let's face it, they provided some "easy to get"
flight shots...and who doesn't love a good flight shot!!

Beautiful Canada Geese shots and I especially love the wing shot those were just gorgeous; I also noticed one of the geese had an odd longer neck from the rest and was bent too.

HI Debbie Yes this was a great series of shots of the Canada geese, both in flight and standing on the wall.

One of the pictures my grandpa sent me when I was a kid was one of him feeding the Canadian geese he was feeding over the winter. He lived on a river and he would feed them when the snow came. I still have it and I have loved them since. I love your photos and I love them jumping off one by one. Such a pretty day there Debbie. I am glad you captured it.

As a Southern boy...my first meeting was a shock. I met a gaggle blocking the trail I was running on (business meeting in Chicago had me up North). I expected they'd make way.

Not so fast. They were a little irked I dared enter their territory. I'm glad I got by them with all my skin.

Oh Debbie; you got some incredible shots on this one. I am so serious when I tell you that the pictures are professionally looking. Just amazing!
Blessings dear friend!

Great job photographing these animated geese! They really are pretty. But those annoying honkers were in my way yesterday as I was trying to capture the white pelicans. Every time someone walked to the edge of the lake the geese would go bonkers, hoping for handouts. Finally, their honking got the attention of the pelicans and they came close to shore to investigate, so I was able to get my shots in the end.

These are wonderful shots--nothing easy here! I love the last two especially--soooooo beautiful in flight.

I know what you mean about not really seeing what's in front of us all the time. I think photography helps us appreciate them more.

Fantastic!! So many geese at "my" pond too. These shots make them seem almost athletic! I love that one guy stared right at you - like a kid saying "look mom" before they jump in a pool!

Yes I liked this very much. So fun to watch them jumping off like that. Neat shots.
