Preparing for "The Storm"...

We don't get "snow" at The Jersey Shore anymore...
we get "Storms", "Blizzards" and Nor'easter's"!

Gone are the days of riding the bus to school in the snow,
hoping you might have an early dismissal.
Schools in my area are closed, already, and not one flake has fallen.
The snow plows are out, driving around in anticipation of "The Blizzard"
According to the weather channel, the snow starts at 5 pm tonight,
and will be gone by noon tomorrow.
We are expected to get 3 - 5 inches and there is not one
roll of toilet paper left in the stores.

Don't get me wrong, I am excited.
There will be enough snow for one snowman,
two snow angels and one snowball fight.

I also prepared for the storm by filling the bird feeders...

and everyone here is keeping an eye on the sky!!

Welcome to our world - hope you survive the storm! Actually we didn't get any more snow last night, but there's already more than enough on the ground -and it's -24C.

Love the red of the cardinal! I wish we would get some of that snow here, but they are calling for just flurries in our part of the state. Stay safe and have fun!

Better to be prepared than sorry. No storms here today. Just bright sunshine, plenty of snow already on the ground and -20 F.
Love the cardinal. They are such pretty birds.

Hi Neighbor. I just found your blog and was hooked by the name and cover photo! I am now following so I can visit often. We are also waiting for the storm here on Long Island...blizzard like conditions on the way. I am excited about getting photos but I just hope that the electric stays on and eveyone is safe. Stay warm.

We're at 12 inches and counting.
Supposedly this is just the beginning of the storm here. Sure is pretty though!

Stay safe.

We're getting the snow today, but the forecast went from 1-3" to less than an inch. Our issue will be the single digit high temperatures on Monday and Tuesday. Nice shot of the cardinal!

We'll be getting the same system. Doesn't it drive you cray-cray with all the weather news on tv? I swear they carry on so much about a simple snowfall and cold! Take some pix of your storm!

I love the picture of your cardinal in the tree. Do you mean that the weatherman sort of over react? I was thinking that the other day as they were forecasting doom and gloom because we didn't get any rain. We never have normally in December, always in February and March, but to hear it now, it is so much worse. So it does make you wonder. Well hope it is just a nice snow.

Snowing here in Massachusetts. Hasn't amounted to too much yet but the schools are closed today and tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what we end up with. Wonderful cardinal portrait!

It is funny to see everyone running to the food stores. It is a big joke about the bread. If I am snowed in I need junk food or sweets. It snowed on my way home from work today at 3:30 so it is coming your way. Enjoy!

A beautiful cardinal shot. I have filled up the feeders 3 times today! We have about a foot of snow, it's still snowing, and it's minus 26 degrees! Very typical for my part of Canada. Funny about the stores being out of toilet paper, Canadians stock up on beer!

We're supposed to have 14 inches by the time all is said and done. Tomorrow around noon. Left work at one today, and don't think we'll make it to the office tomorrow. Boo hoo. When I got home from work at one the birds were having a party in my back yard!! It was crazy! I got a cardinal pic this morning...not a great one, but it made me really happy!! I'm going to try and get out and get some snow pics tomorrow!

I know what you mean - storm preparation is crazy. I try to avoid the frenzy and make do with what I have. For the most part, I like snow, though. I hope you get a chance to make that snowman! :-)

I love your thoughts today. I can see that you are prepared for the storm and I love that you cared for the birds. Your areas will be in my prayers. The picture was so beautiful as always.
I loved your analogy on the box of crayons. I think I want to be the color yellow.
Blessings to you dear friend.

Love the pretty photo of the cardinal. Don't you just love seeing that bright red in the drabness of winter? Hope your blizzard isn't too bad. The only blizzards I like come from the Dairy Queen...teehee! Stay safe and warm!

Just beautiful! I am so happy to see the cardinals during winter, they strike a beautiful pose. We keep our bird feeders full and enjoy them so. We have 2 inches of snow here and it is 14 degrees.... Brrr. Stay warm and cozy and please share some more photos!

Stay safe and warm. No snow here today. It was over 50 here today & gorgeous blue skies. (Crossing my fingers it stays decent for awhile longer.) Pretty shot of the cardinal. So happy you were thinking of them.
