Baby It's Cold Outside...

It's currently 2 degrees, with the wind chill, it's....."who the hell cares"!
When did "wind chills" start anyway??
And when did they start taking center stage over the actual temperature?

Schools throughout the area have a delayed opening.
Really??
When I was a kid, I walked to school, in the snow, uphill...
I did however have shoes, they were hand-me-downs
and they had holes in them.
True story.

So for today, I will warm you up with...

 This beautiful sunset...

on December 27th...
This was a pull the car over and do the best you can with what you've got.
I thought the tree was beautiful!!

We're not quite that cold: 14.9 when I got up this morning at 7.
LOVE your sunset photos: gorgeous! But, then, you know, they're my weakness, right?
Stay warm!

Beautiful photos Debbie.

Being #6 with 7 siblings I know what it was to wear hand me down shoes that didn't fit and to walk a couple of miles to school in the morning. :-)

It is sooooooo cold. I spent some time out with the alpacas this morning to make sure they were all okay. They seem much more content then us humans. But those little babies are cuddled up with their mommas. Keep warm!

Beautiful captures. Love the way the first one is framed by the trees. Our schools have been closed here for two day. Minus 40 something with wind chill, exposed skin will freeze in 10-15 minutes.

You did a great job with what you had!

The schools here are all closed today, but the wind has not made a appearance thus far, so it is a balmy -9. :-(

Can you say cabin fever????? :-)

Love the photos! I went to school today...it was 9 degrees. We are all in the deep freeze! It is above freezing now though, and promising to reach into the 50s by the weekend. It will be quite balmy! Stay warm!

U nas śniegu i mrozu brak. Jak na razie zima jest łaskawa. Zdjęcia nieba o zachodzie słońca są śliczne. Pozdrawiam.
In our lack of snow and frost. So far, the winter is kind. Pictures of the sky at sunset are beautiful. Yours.

Oh and those damn rubber boots with the zippers and fake fur. I think I still have scars where the frozen fur rubbed on the calves of my legs. This year the money we invested to winter in Arizona is really paying off!!!! I won't even give today's high....I still want to be friends.
Stay warm and keep your feet dry!!!

I am late in my blog rounds! :-) We're icy cold here, too, but it's supposed to get up in the 30s tomorrow--balmy! Love the photos. That is a lovely tree--the ends of the branches look like feathers.

Hahaha! I've NEVER had to wade through snow to get to school ... that's what you get for living in Australia!!! Love your photos ... and sending you some virtual warmth from downunder where it's midsummer!!

Beautiful sunset pictures! We have had similar sunrises and sunsets during this brutal cold front we are experiencing. It is so brutally cold, I know all the birds and wildlife are suffering.

check out our sunrise just the other day; http://michaelswoodcraft.wordpress.com/2014/01/07/beautiful-sunrise/

stay warm! ;-)

It's funny how we like to know about wind chills these days. Growing up in an industrial area before there were tight restraints on pollutants, I used to walk to school in total smog, where I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. I remember holding on to the hand of the child in front of me, and another one in front of her, so that we wouldn't get lost from each other, like a line of elephants you see in Africa ;)

Thanks for stopping by my soup post. The kitchen sink would have gone in if there had been more room :)

p.s. should have started off saying, your photos are as beautiful as always :)

What a lovely sunset it was. So glad you pulled over to photograph it. - Hey we had snow here last night (and no I didn't take pictures). It's supposed to rain today which will most likely melt it all away.

I used to walk to school too. I had nearly a 2 mile walk to high school and hated having to walk in the winter when it snowed, even with shoes/boots on.
