Thinking About Spring!!

If you want pretty Tulips in the Spring,
you have to prepare now!!
The hubs loves Spring Bulbs, Tulips mostly and he loves red and yellow.
I voted for purple and white,
you will soon see how that vote ended,
and trust me, you will be very surprised.

Once the "prep" work is done, I didn't get a before picture,
but this garden was a mess of weeds.

He uses  a power tool and those bulbs go in pretty quickly.

A total of 300 bulbs were planted, all around the front yard,

red and yellow!!

It's serious work kids and
he loves seeing those little surprises popping up in Spring...

and don't you think it's about time he won at something??

I do!!

I always mean to plant tulips, and then completely forget - thanks for the reminder! Billy and I wrapped up some fig plantings a friend gave us this weekend, fingers crossed they take and come back next year!

I tried to plant a few tulips two springs ago. The squirrels dug them up. Since then I was told to put 'chicken wire' over the bulbs to prevent the digging. Next spring we're going to do some serious landscaping...maybe next fall!!

You could have put in some purple too, and had a 3 colour tulip garden ;)

I love flowers from bulbs. My husband also likes to do the fall prep work. Unfortunately, for the past few years, the squirrels have snatched many bulbs, and the tulips were a bit sparse.

hahaha - you're cute! I like all colors, definitely not picky there, I just need someone to do all that planting.

Hmmmm... I think you are playing with the Hubs. Letting him 'win' and all. I am sensing that he will be planting purple and white azaleas or such in the not so distant future...

I guess we should be thinking of spring if we are going to plant some bulbs this year. We planted our first ones last year and they were so beautiful. I will look forward to the pictures you will take of these freshly planted bulbs.
I loved the pictures of your hubby hard at work planting.
Blessings!

What a wonderful sight to look forward to. The deer have eaten all of my tulip bulbs.

Oh, you are a sweetie to go with his color scheme! 300 tulips will be spectacular next spring! This reminds me that I need to plant some bulbs. I never think about it --- until spring. :-)

Your garden is going to look great with all of that wonderful colour come the Spring. Spring seems such long time!!

Wow that's a lot of red/yellow but they will be so beautiful come spring. - We planted bulbs too (lots of Daffodils and several colors of Tulips) I believe I have one with a purplish shade to it. When they bloom I'll share. - Can't wait to see your hubby's hard work paying off.
