Spring Has Sprung But Will It Stay...

On Wednesday, I opened every window in the house....
the temperature was 70 degrees outside and I could hear the neighborhood children laughing and playing.
It brings me comfort and reminds me of when my boys were young and playing in the yard.

How do you feel about daylight savings time...I have a love/hate relationship with it.
I really enjoy the longer days and feel the benefit from the extra sunshine.
But...the longer days make me feel like I should be "busier" in the evening, settle down later.
I like when the sun goes down earlier, when the house gets dark and the busy time of day has ended.
I can settle in with my knitting and a little fun television.

On Thursday, this happened...

So I turned my attention to my little inside garden.

All of my plants needed a little love and attention.

I always save my egg shells, dry them out and share them with my plants.
It makes them happy.

This is my Thanksgiving/Christmas Cactus.
I think it is a little confused as it has 2 blooms on it.
Maybe it blooms for St. Patrick's day as well.

I pruned everybody, cut off the dead stuff, fluffed the soil and fed them all.

This Flaming Katy is full of flowers...

and my Cyclame has lot's of new leaves and 2 buds which are now flowers.

I have a lot of Green Onions that have supplied me with Chives all winter long.

Everybody's back in their spots, I have 2 confused cactus...

soaking up the sun now!!

Hello Debbie,
Your flowers and plants are looking beautiful.
Our cactus could be an Eastern Cactus , it has flowers now.
I opened our windows on those 70 degree days. We had snow shower but it did not even lay on the grass. Take care, happy Friday! Have a great weekend.

Hi Debbie :)
Your indoor plants all look healthy and you do a good job of looking after them. Thank you for the tip about eggshells, I didn't
know they were good for the soil and plants,

I love daylight savings time because I love getting the extra hours of light. I never thought about being busier, Here is Florida it's longer pool time in the early evening. Your inside garden is petite, healthy, and cute. I'm sure it enjoyed the extra love and attention.

Hi Debbie! Your plants look healthy and happy. I talk to mine, play them music, and give them food and vitamins on a schedule. They are doing well and getting bigger than their pots. I just repotted the 2 Bromeliads (Flame and Star - all my plants have names)
As for daylight savings time... doesn't matter one way or the other with me (but I do like waking up to sunshine).

I just saw on the news tonight that the U.P. in Michigan will be getting a couple feet of snow this weekend. Told Greg I really don't want to retire up there. I like seeing the trees already blooming down here and the grass greening up :). I did the same thing before putting up my Easter and spring decorrations, a few of the plants needed a good trimming. They look happy in the window :)

Same kind of weather here. Spring one day winter the next. I'm not really a fan of daylight savings time. I much prefer standard time.
All your plants are beautiful. I'm horrible with plants. I kill everything. Some hang on longer than others but eventually they all die in my care.

Your inside garden is charming Debbie. Wonderful photos of the falling snow. We had snow for a day but it melted very quickly. For some reason this year, daylight savings time passed without us noticing it much. Maybe it's because we're retired, I don't really know.

Great signs of spring. Even the snow. We get that too in the spring. I'm thinking one more big storm in April. Maybe.

I don't care for the time change and find it to be dumb. Love for that to stop.

As for longer days, I like it dark early because it feels all cozy and nice and like I have a LOOOOOTTTTTAAA night left.

Happy Spring.

While you are anxiously awaiting spring I have a feeling it is a false spring and there is more winter to come!

Your indoor garden looks lovely, Debbie, and thanks for the reminder to save and dry eggshells for the plants as we will be planting an indoor herb garden soon. yes, we also had a surprise snowfall on Saturday morning.

I am happy about the longer hours.. I am not happy about how cold it still it. I keep green onions on my window sill as well but I keep them in water and they regrow thrice before I have to buy new ones. Do yours regrow longer because they are in soil?

‎ I had severe symptoms of ALS from shortness of breath, balance problems, couldn't walk without a walker or a power chair, i had difficulty swallowing and fatigue. I was given medications which helped but only for a short burst of time, so I decided to try alternative measures and began on ALS herbal treatment from a herbal centre, It has made a tremendous difference for me.
