And when I say "destination unknown",
that usually means somewhere by the beach, or the inlet.
We drove through the town of Point Pleasant Beach,
and the Sweet Shop on the Boardwalk for a Sweet Treat.
Cappuccino truffles
Next up, the Inlet where we watched the Rachel Hailey come in.
This was the first time I have ever seen this commercial fishing boat.
We watched this commercial fishing boat come in from the ocean and park along the dock.
There were a lot of these...
Ringed-Billed Gulls
And...
It was a slow paced, relaxing drive...taking everything in.
The temperatures were in the 70's, the sky was blue, with not a cloud in sight.
This was all about the journey and had nothing to do with the destination!

Beautiful. Looks so peaceful.
What a lovely drive.

Nice drive and pictures. Those murals are amazing.
Hello Debbie,
I would do the same as you if I lived closer to a beach.
Beautiful views of the beach and boats. The Gulls are cute captures. The murals look beautiful. Take care, enjoy your day!
Nice road trip. Your concrete conical jetties look like toys thrown on the water. We don't grow those in Kansas. But our pioneers didn't find trees, so they cut limestone into tall skinny square pillars for fence poles, and then they could wrap their barbed wire around it. Linda
A wonderful destination and perfect for a nice drive. Love the murals, the pretty gulls and the fishing boats. My Grandfather was a commercial fisherman off the New England coast. He would go out for 10 days at a time. It's hard work. Glad you were able to get away. Those cappuccino truffles would be calling my name! :) x K
Those are the best kinds of drives, you just don't know what you will come away with, looks like it was a perfect day for a drive.
Those murals are terrific!!
How beautiful. Those gulls. I love them!!!! So pretty!!!! All of the pictures are beautiful.
That's my kind of journey. I always enjoy being near the water. What beautiful murals those are.
Debbie, you make me miss living by water so much. Wish we lived close enough to be able to take a drive by the ocean. Growing up we lived close to the Gulf, Lake Pontchartrain, and the Mississippi river.
And I loved your pictures. We have large ships in glass cases that DH has built, as will as pictures and puzzles that look like your last pic all over our house.
Such a lovely drive, I enjoyed seeing your photographs.
Aren't those murals lovely.
All the best Jan
That was a great drive :) Thanks for sharing all these pretty scenes (love the airplane). We're hoping to take a trip up to New Jersy in the warmer months, an area we haven't really explored. I've been taking note of some of the places you have mentioned and shown them to hubby.
OMG. Great shots of the blue and the birds. Pretty art and I love that the sun is enjoying an ice cream cone. What a hoot.
There's nothing like spending a drive along the beach in NH, especially before all the summer time crowds and traffic. From your photos, Debbie, it looks like you had a very colorful day with the perfect 🌞 weather and temps!
