Saturday Critters #598

Our Egrets arrived a few weeks ago and I am seeing them everywhere.
There were at least 4 Egrets here at Debbie's Creek on May 19th, sporting their mating plumage.
Lores, the area around the eye, turn green and they display long dark plumes beyond their tail.

We stumbled upon this body of water on April 20th while out for a drive.
There were several Great Egrets here that I photographed.
I would like to go back, but I can't remember where I was!

I have never taken a good flight of any bird...
I took these 2 and was thrilled with them.

Living by the ocean and in sea shore communities, I see a lot of this....

and this, it is a beautiful place to call home!

Dinner & A Movie

We went to see the movie first, a daytime matinee...so we were able to stay awake,
plus we saved a "whole dollar" on each ticket
- you get my drift -

We went to see Tom Cruise in
Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning

We have not been to the movies in ages and it all looked so different.

I liked this display, I guess the limousine drew me in.

Now...
on to my review...
I have no idea what the movie was about, I think they were looking for an "entity",
I heard that word a lot.
It was very dark and had the usual Tom hanging from a moving plane scenes.

I feel like this was the only "light" scene in the entire movie and it comes at the end.

I didn't like it...I tried to like it, I also tried to fall asleep but I wasn't tired.
The positives: big cushy chairs, we bought our tickets at home and we were able to pick our seats.
We have not been to a theater in forever, these were new to us!

We went to Carrabba's Grill afterward and I had this shrimp scampi appetizer for dinner.
It was plenty of food, I brought half home and it was delicious.

The Reservoir

One of my favorite things to do is go for a zip around the reservoir.
Only a few minutes from home, it is an awesome walking path, no bikes are allowed.

The Iris were still in bloom, they were beautiful, still in their prime.

It was later in the day, a cool crisp evening and the sun was on the move.
The township does a wonderful job maintaining the property, keeping it trash free and full of flowers.

These are Spanish Bluebells.

The sunset was so pretty, the water reflected it's orange glow.

Afterwards, we stopped at Ritas for an ice.
The perfect way to end the day and watch this gorgeous sunset.

Do you enjoy walking...does your town provide a nice dedicated walking path?

Reflections From The Garden

We have had a beautiful "blend" of warm sunny days and rain.
I like this combination, as it allows days indoors, doing inside things,
without the guilt of being indoors during nice weather.
We have not had to water the grass, plants or flowers, mother nature has taken care of that.
There have been enough gorgeous days for outdoor day trips and activities.
- win win -
I have been able to fit in and enjoy everything.

My White Azaleas received the perfect blend of rain and sun this spring and were stunning this year.

stunning also were the Rhododendrons but have since passed their prime.

You remember my pretty birdhouse,
we change out the flowers at the base every season.
It was time to plant for summer, the Vincas.

Here's the hubs,
he really likes using his drill and the auger tip for this job.

You can see the little holes it makes, making planting these quick...

and oh so fun.

We do the same thing around the mailbox.
We = the hubs!

Wildflowers

I planted all wildflowers and herbs in the above ground "trug" garden.

Dill for my butterflies.

Not much is blooming in the gardens right now, this Goldflame Spirea is currently very pretty...

and this is one of my many Hydrangeas.
As you can see, it will be soon be filled with colorful flowers.

Free Little Art Gallery And Yummy Lemonade...

This Free Little Art Gallery
is located at 81 Mount Zion Way, Neptune, NJ
right by the lovely Ocean Grove seaside community.

All kinds of special little works of art.

I left the shell on the top shelf.

These small trinkets were on the bottom shelf.
This is like the ever popular, take a book, leave a book.

I took this beautiful hand painted postcard,
the back read Laura Hall 2025.

And how sweet that you can take something even if you have nothing to share.
I found this a few months ago and have been wanting to go back ever since.
I was so happy it was still here, as now I had something to leave.

The area was surrounded by these beautiful yellow roses.

During our drive, I sure was thirsty,

and lucky for me, these 2 adorable entrepreneurs were selling lemonade on the side of the road,..
still on their homes driveway.
You could opt for a red cup, or the pouch the blonde was holding, I forgot to ask their names.
I got to meet one of the moms too, what lovely people and thanks for letting me take your picture.
I hope you get to see this post!!
