Saturday Critters #482

During a ride around Lake of the Lilies, the sparrows came out so I could take pictures.
These are the same ones that I featured two weeks ago that were hiding in the sticker bushes.

I saw so many Ruddy Ducks, this is a male...

this is a female.

These are Scaups, female in the front, a male in the back.

Soon these will be in the water too!

Yes, before long those things will be in the water, rolling around. I was out on the deck today with the cats watching the birds with them. I am loving the singing and the flying around. Just filled up the birdfeeder...cats love it when I bring the birds to them.

The Sparrows really blend into the tree limbs and twigs! Good eyes to see them. I'm glad you got out this week...I know you love this place and we love your photos!

Thinking of canoes is really a lovely idea — it will be a few months before the water temperature here lets us go paddling!

Have a good week.

I don't think we appreciate House Sparrows enough because there are so many of them around but they really are sweet birds. Good that you featured them in this post. It is always a joy to view your posts.

Great photos!
Thanks for your comment on my blog. Deer in my yard? Yes, I made the photo through my dining room window!
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Debbie You can always rely on the Sparrows appearing and great shots of the ducks. Sorry I have not time to comment. I am hoping to be moving to Australia and have just put my home on the market so LOTS and LOTS to do.

Hello Debbie :=) You don't often see sparrows these days, not on blogs anyway, and it's a shame. Your photos of these cute birds are lovely, and the Ruddy ducks also.
All the best.

Wow all lovely nature captures, and not a snowflake in sight. You are so much closer to spring than us!

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a ruddy duck.

I love your sparrows. They are underestimated birds in my opinion.

Fine looking feathered friends!

Debbie - a couple of days ago, I saw two ducks on the only open water around here - in the creek. Brave souls ... not much to eat around here (yet). I did spot the first Red-winged Blackbird at my feeder today - a sure sign that Spring is around the corner!
