You asked about the population of PEI. There are about 160,000 people on this little island. An uncontrolled Covid outbreak here would quickly tax the health care system. The number of ventilators on the island was small before the pandemic and has increased a bit but not a lot. Meanwhile, we have had no need of them yet since we haven’t had any hospitalizations or deaths from the virus. The lockdown is an effort to keep it that way and most islanders support these actions. Our leadership in public health and government have done a great job thus far. The good news today’s was that with over 6000+ tests, there were no new cases. We try to do our part.
thanks so much marie, i was really curious about your little island, for so many reasons, but on this day as to how it related to covid. here in new jersey, it would be/has been impossible to control people, keep businesses closed and keep people home. here, a lot of people do not believe that covid is real. we have friends that are so passionate about those beliefs "it's a conspiracy, created by the government to control the election"! "more people die from the regular flu each year"!...the list is endless - some people just don't get it! luckily, i get it and we obey all of the rules and recognize that they are in place to keep us safe!! 8 million people reside in new jersey, there were days that our number of new cases were 7,000 +. good luck to your little slice of heaven, i love where you live, you pictures and stories are amazing!!
It is the little things in life that make the difference. I believe this to be true. Thanks for sharing our awesome thoughts each Sabbath day; I love them. Big hugs!
