The Seasons Change Quickly!

We had a beautiful October this year, sunny and warm...
except for a deluge of rain at the end of the month.
November has come in like a storm with damaging winds and a chill to the air like no other.
It honestly feels like winter right now.

All of these gorgeous leaves have been blown off the trees,
and just like that, now, they are nearly bare.
The grass is covered with natures decorations,
in a beautiful carpet of yellow and orange.

Gone are the days of riding down gorgeous roads like this...
Old man winter has arrived early!

The American Robins are still here,
according to my bird book, they do not migrate rather they stay the winter.
This Robin, with it's brightly colored breast, is a male.

The Northern Cardinals also stay in New Jersey during the winter.
They are easily the most recognizable bird at the feeders,
and a real standout in the snow.

Another few days in the books, things are good here but I could definitely use a ride in the car!

Hello,

The Autumn leaves are looking pretty in your area. It is cold and windy here again today, I think it is in the 30's. That is winter! Love the Robin and Cardinal photos, great captures. Take care! Have a happy day!

I love the pictures Debbie. I am afraid winter will seem endless with the Virus making us stay in so much. I will be more ready for Spring than any other year before. The winds took lots of leaves from the treest here. and we need to clean the yard up from most of them. Blessings, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

Same thing here - leaves were still on and then they got knocked off. We're supposed to be in the 70's this weekend, though. Beautiful photos of the birds!

Yep, the only way I ever saw Cardinals until we RV traveled was in the snow on a Christmas card! They are standouts against that white background for sure although I don’t really want to see them in real life in snowy weather . I’ll take them in the Florida sunshine winter or even not at all here in the rainy Pacific Northwest....Autumn glories never last long enough (it’s still pretty here though.)

It seems to me that our fall went fast and we didn't see the turning of leaves for very long. However, some of our trees are still shedding. It has been unseasonably warm the last few days so we have been busy doing yard clean-up. I should say my husband has been busy. I loved the beautiful shots you got of the Robin and Cardinal. These were glorious photos. I don't think I realized that the Robin's don't migrate. I will look out for them.
Blessings and hugs!

We are losing ours fast too, although we still have quite a bit still around there are a few trees here and there that are bare now, we are trying to get out as much as we can while we are having temps in the 70's right now and no rain until next Tuesday. Hope you are able to get that car drive soon! Stay safe!
