What Fire??

Do you remember that terrible fire we had back on August 4th?
After a long and drawn out process with our insurance company, our tenants insurance companies, inspectors, and the fire marshall
demolition of the building began on September 28th.

The front of the building looked like this about 2 weeks ago...

and this is the back.
This end of the building holds 4 tenants, there are 2 units in the front,
and 2 units in the back.

Today, the front of the building looks like this, it is really coming along.

This is the back.

It looks awesome, not even a hint of a fire.
The hubs and all of the contractors have worked so hard,
it is like climbing a mountain.
The hubs often says "it would be easier to climb Mt. Everest"!

On to the next...

Back Before the fire,
during the summer, we decided to have the deck replaced,
it really needs to be done.
We asked the contractor to put us on the schedule for October,
once the pool was closed and we were done using it.
He did not start until this past Tuesday,
and he is already gone, other jobs to be done he said.
He is related to us, our brother-in-law,
he did our roof and is an excellent carpenter.
So now we wait...
and it has been so beautiful this week,
all I want to do is go outside and sit on the deck...
that might be hard!

I know it will be beautiful when it is done, but I can't wait.
You know how it is when you start a project??
I'll keep you posted, I hope this project doesn't take too long!!

Debbie, I knew exactly what your husband meant about Mt. Everest. Bless his heart, what a working man. Please do not step out the door to the deck. Yikes. Slap down some sheet of plywood, maybe. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

I'm so happy to see how good the building looks. I know how stressful it has been for you all. Hope that deck gets done quickly so you can enjoy it!

The building is coming along so nicely! Oh, I so get you about waiting; not real good about. But, just think how wonderful it will! :)

Hello Debbie,

The building looks great, you would never know there was a fire. It will be nice when your deck is done!
Take care, enjoy your day! Happy weekend!

Be careful out there.

Your building looks great. I am so happy they were able to get this building completed. I know it has been hard to get through all the paperwork after a fire.
I have had an experience where I had to wait for a deck to be re-done. I do love sitting out on the deck so that would be sad.
Blessings and hugs!

The building was replaced very quickly, Debbie. What a beautiful job too. We had work done at the back of the house this year. Two months of torture but finally done by the end of .September. Good luck.

Your builders do great work! It will be nice to have that finished. Is it because you're family and it's a deck that it will be one of those "get to it when he can" things? I have no doubt it will look great in the end!

Good to see the buildings are coming along nicely. Oh that is a bummer about your deck, who would have thought we would have this warm of weather right now, hope he can get to it soon!
