What's Growing On

I was sitting on the deck, looking at the sun illuminate my
Knockout Roses
I thought "how lucky am I to have this view" and of course my second thought was
 "I need to photograph these"

This is the entirety of that garden...

My vegetable garden was a complete fail this year.
This is the only tomato plant that produced anything.
It could be that the seed/plants almost died completely when we were in Texas.
A groundhog lived off of the cucumber plant all summer.
I watered it, kept it alive...he never said thank you.

This was my biggest success story.
The Vinca's in the bird bath/planter that the hubs and I made.
I love this almost as much as the birds do, and the hummingbird moth did.

This Butterfly Bush has gotten huge, and is by far my favorite.
It is always covered with butterflies.

This one has done very well also.
It is the new one we bought this year.
You remember,
the one I pouted about..
this one does not attract the butterflies like the other one does.

The mailbox garden...these are Vinca's,
the ones the hubs plants every year.

More Vinca's in the front, center garden.

Daylilies

So that's what's blooming right now.
What's growing on in your garden?

A very attractive floral display. Looks like a lot of work to keep it looking like that.

Hello, your flowers and gardens all look beautiful. It is a shame your veggies did not do well. Those darn groundhogs! I love teh vinca and your butterfly bush colors are lovely. Wishing you a happy day!

You've got a lot of great blooms yet! The bird bath/flower pot is awesome! Many of the flowering plants here have started dying off. Not all, but I guess it's nearing the end of growing season.

Beautiful flowers and love the red against that yellow birdbath. It is still so hot here that I am amazed anything grows but some thing do indeed still bloom.

Debbie, Oh yes what pretty flowers. I loved seeing them all. Your husband's mailbox garden is awesome. Darn groundhog. LOL. I think potted plants dried out before the day was over in some of the heat we had this year. Maybe next year will be kinder. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Sorry your vegetable side of things didn't work out so well but wow those roses are gorgeous and you have so many to enjoy. The only one I have is in terrible shape. I am getting green peppers from my garden but not as well as I have had in past years so that is a bummer, I like to freeze enough to have them all winter long. Your mailbox garden is always so pretty, a treat to see whenever you check your mail :) Bet it brings a smile to the mail person too :)

Oh, Debbie, the knockout roses are so beautiful! I really miss having them here; my last home, I had them like you do. Just watched them bloom and get taller!

Everything in your yard is beautiful I bet the mailbox is the talk of the town every year. It looks like Chuck planted more this year?

xoxo

Gorgeously gorgeous!!!
Such a wonderful garden full of colour. Perhaps its a good thing the groundhog only fed on the cucumbers (oooh sorry if its a sore point lol), rather than attacking those pretties as well.
Lovely to see your butterfly releasing plant in its setting and your pouted-upon plant certainly pulled its socks up and behaved.
All in all, a delightful walk around the garden with you ... and, oh, not to forget the beautifully painted letterbox which so sweetly looks down at its pretty flowers (well done to your hubs). Cheers and hugs :D)

Debbie - wonderful garden. Vincas are reliable and mound up so nicely to make any garden/bed have a finished look. How interesting that the butterflies prefer one butterfly bush over the other. In my garden, I have poppies, coneflower, coreopsis, black-eyed susans and by far my favorite of them all - Russian sage.

Well that groundhog is just plain rude! Your flowers are beautiful, though. I love that your butterfly bush is covered with butterflies!

Gosh yes you needed to photograph them! And share them since your readers have come to expect this beauty! Thank you for doing so (I am more mannerly than a groundhog at least). Your yard is just beautiful. Thanks to you and your hubby too ...I’ve never seen a mailbox garden anywhere in real life and it is such a lovely idea.

My garden doesn't compare to your beautiful flowers, but I am still getting lots of tomatoes too! Summer is a bit waning here, but there's still some life out there.

Oh your landscaping flowers are simply lovely. I do love roses and I can just imagine how good they smell. I mailbox flowers are beautiful. In fact, I liked them all. I love that you plant Butterfly friendly plants.
I's sad your garden didn't fair well. However, you did get a few tomatoes which is more than I got since I didn't do a patio garden this year. We did plant some lovely flowers, so I will take a photo and put it on my blog soon.
Blessings and hugs!
