Saturday Critters ~ 296 ~

I found this family of young mallards at
Lake of the Lilies
Mallards are the most familiar dabbling ducks, juveniles resemble adult females.

I love Mallards. Even the juveniles and females who have less color. They have such distinct feather detail, which your pictures show so well.

We see mallard families on the river and ponds around here, but mine aren’t as beautiful ...(but that is because of the person behind the camera!)
