The Hot Air Balloon Festival

I made it to this years hot air balloon festival.
We went late in the day, just to watch the balloon launch.
We stayed on the paved path and had a great view.
Over 100 balloons launched, they were breathtaking as they filled the sky.

As we left the festival, balloons were landing in all the surrounding neighborhoods.

And even though we missed the festival,
the balloon launch was enough to set my soul soaring!

Lucky you were able to get a spot, to watch launching from! That has to be the best part, anyway. :-)

And lucky they had good weather. Up here, it is always a "crap-shoot," about the weather. ,-)

What a colourful display! I think I like the traditional round shape the best, although the others are fun as well.

What wonderful pictures you got. It looks like such a beautiful day. A blog I read, had one of the balloons sit down in her pasture. It looked so lovely.
I hope you have a wonderful week Debbie.

Very cool, glad you were able to get out and see them! I love those ones that are shaped, it amazes me the ones they come out with anymore! We have never seen something like that in person, we found out one will be about an hour drive away and we are thinking about going, after seeing this makes me want to go even more, Love the picture of them all up in the air together!

Wow Debbie these are just gorgeous and i'm so glad you went so now we can see them too! Looks like an amazing event, I would sure love to attend this. Is it annual? The balloons are all so pretty arent' they? I love all the pictures, so bright and colorful. And they seem to float up and away so quietly and peacefully. I know they are not "totally" quiet, as I've been close enough to hear their great "whoosh whooosh" but still they are very calming and peaceful I think. Thank you for posting these!

Gorgeous pictures -- I love this post!! We saw a small festival in Arizona once, not the famous one which is I think in New Mexico. But i loved it.

FANTASTIC! I always say to my husband that we should make an effort to go to a balloon festival but we never do. The day couldn't have been more perfect for their flights. Wonderful images Debbie. Have a great week :)

So glad you were able to go see the balloons! I've been to a couple of small shows, but have always wished I were near a big one! While I love all the bright colors in the traditional balloons, the shaped one just make me smile . . . the barn, the panda, and the birthday cake! Your pictures are wonderful!

Oh my gosh how fun are those balloons. Loving all the different shaped ones. We have a festival here but not nearly that large and last year they didn't even get off the ground due to bad weather. Enjoyed all the colorful balloons here.

That's awesome! Great balloons! The barn and panda are really cool! I'm not sure I'd have the fortitude to ride in one.
