I have a thing for hats, not wearing them, knitting them.
I look terrible wearing a hand knitted beanie hat.
I like knitting hats because they are easy,
I can usually memorize the pattern and they make a nice gift.
Did I mention they are "easy" and portable, you can take and work on them anywhere.
For that reason, all most of my friends and family own a hand knitted hat.
I still have a few people on my "they don't have a hat list",
and a new friend who needs one!
I knitted this hat last week, it took 5 evenings and maybe a few car rides.
A Cider Press Hat
Soft - warm Alpaca Yarn
for someone I've known a really long time...
I want to be the person who keeps her warm durning the winter.
I purchased this yarn at Arrow Acres Farm
It's Farm Yarn
Made from a blend of Smoke Ring, Shooshi & Mr. Bates
I love this farm, you can visit with these Alpaca on the farm,
then make a nice hat with their fiber.
And one other happy p.s. about this farm, this is where Ms. Leanne taught me how to knit.

What a wonderful memory to have leaning to knit there.
"I want to be the person who keeps her warm during the winter." That is a wonderful and loving thing to do, Debbie. Your hats are treasures to all who get one.
I feel the exact same way about hats. Love to knit them, despise wearing them. And, I too have a local alpaca farm that allows you to hang out with the alpacas then purchase their fiber. It's so much fun to knit with yarn when you know who 'donated' it.
A very special place indeed!
I LOVE this hat, Debbie!
I don't like hats on me either, but sometimes around here in winter, it is a definite necessity.
Happy day to you, my friend.
xo.
Hello Debbie, I do not like wearing hats either. Your knitted hat is cute and I like yarn color. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
I am not a huge fan of hats but the wurm hat is my all time favorite, I believe I look good in it. lovely yarn!!
It looks gorgeous!!!!!! It really makes me sooooo happy to see you knitting away and loving every minute. You're one special lady :)
I love the beautiful, neutral yarns you choose. Gorgeous! And I love the photo. So pretty, Debbie!
Very pretty! I always think I look terrible in hats - but when I need to wear one, It's good to wear something nice.
I love that hat.
I also love that Christmas bauble!
All the best Jan
Beautiful!
OHHH your lucky friend!! Great colour... I like knitting in the car too!... I was doing a dishcloth on this trip....but only got about 6 rows done... I seemed to fall asleep when I wasn't driving:)
you do a great job on those, and every project you've shown us, actually! I enjoy seeing your talent. Glad you stopped by, and yep...i love the color of that purple shirt too! LOL I bought that on one of the hottest days of the summer at a thrift shop......and impatiently waited to WEAR IT, hoping for Fall. I think I got to pull it out when we were evacuated for Hurricane Matthew, Its very comfortable too.
is it bad that i was completely distracted by those adorable pictures of llamas?
anyway.
your hats look so lovely, ms. debbie!
i actually want to purchase a knit has the holiday season...i normally don't like wearing hats, but i'm feeling brave this winter.

You certainly have got a good hat industry going there
I think a farm near me has alpacas
your friends and family are fortunate indeed!
I love knitting hats for all the same reasons :)
How on earth do you knit in the car?! Mind you, I cannot knit at all! :-)
I always love your knit hats. I know that it is fun to be able to do projects in the car. I used to crochet when in the car.
You do have a knitting talent and I loved the photos. Blessings for your sweet gifts to family and friends.
