I visit Lake of the Lilies in Point Pleasant Beach often.
It's not far from home but it is hit or miss with seeing wildlife and birds there.
It is a wildlife preserve,
fenced off so you can't get right up to the water.
We went last Sunday and the place was busy, lot's of ducks...
and a few pretty Swans.
This Swan was not able to loose that long weed it had picked up.
I think this is a Domestic Mallard...
hanging with the "regular" mallards.
And an American Coot, this sighting is a first for me!!

love ducks of any kind. :) nice you got to see a coot up close! i've only seen them far out on a lake.
I have a board of "reflections" on Pinterest and I hope you don't mind I copied the first picture of the swan to add to that...it is so pretty.
We have plenty of coots in Florida. Old coots, too.

A lovely place to go birding - I can see why it's named Point Pleasant. The swans are always amazing to photograph! Beautiful!
wow, I love those pretty swan pictures! I tried and tried and tried to get swan pictures recently....and that swan just WASNT HAVING IT. Every time I was ready to make the picture....CLICK.......he would ON PURPOSE I TELL YA........turn and hide his head. ha ha ha lOL

I didn't know there were domestic mallards. I'll have to find out the difference.
I loved the photos of the ducks, swans and Mallards. I think I will need to look up some information on the American Coot. I love your bird watching and taking of pictures to share; you are the best. Hugs~

Isn't it fun when you go and there is a lot of them to take pictures of, and how special that you saw one that you hadn't seen before, can cross that one off your list of ones to see :)
