Weekend Adventures!!

Last weekend was a most amazing weekend for me.
I had fun things scheduled for both day's
and everything went according to my plan.
Score!!

On Saturday, the hubs and I went to Laurita Winery
for their first ever...

 Ice Sculpture Festival!!

 Olaf was there...

and this fabulous display for the kids,
Dress A Snowman...accessories provided!!

There was a Fire Breathing Dragon!!
He only exhaled fire once every 15 minutes and I kept missing it.
Well actually, I saw it, I just did not get a picture!!

The hubs and I in front of the igloo,

and here's a shot of me inside the igloo...it was cold but I was so happy!!

There were lots of fire pits, to sit around to stay warm.

This was an ice carving display.
This beautiful swan was carved with a chainsaw, right before our very eyes.

And I just loved this firetruck...

which you know I made the hubs sit on!!

It was snowing for our entire visit and I thought that was awesome.
It was the perfect weather for this winter event

The view for the ride home...
we took it slow and enjoyed the winter scenery!

What a perfectly fun day. I am always such a wimp about going out in the cold. But, I wish I wasn't. I'd have fun like you.

Great idea to have the ice carvings and the dress a snowman keeps the kids amused. The fire truck is amazing, great picture of you and hubs!

Looks like a fabulous time, and I admire your bravery in that cold and snow! BTW, were you affected by that big explosion in Stafford Twp.?

Slow and easy driving, that's the only way to travel, and of course camera ready. Sometimes my hubby gives me that little eye roll, but I'm quick to flash and we're off again. That has to be one of the coolest winter fun spots ever. We have those ice sculptures at Rice park, but to have the snowmen for the kids to dress, is genius. Thanks for sharing my beloved Olaf, I am a lover of all snowmen, but he's my knew idol! I bet your butts got a bit frosty if you didn't shoot and run fast! Thanks for sharing such a fun outing for us too Debbie.

It amazes me that some artists spend so much time and energy on a project that will melt. Their work is wonderful, though, and I guess it does survive in photos!

Debbie, the coat that you are wearing is similar to a coat that you wore in one of your posts way back, it was black with black fur around the hood knee length . That coat inspired me to get one like it. It was a good choice very warm coat. Your an inspiration to all your readers. You and I are the only ones out there that enjoy wearing flip flops in the winter & I thought I was the only one. Lol

Glad your weekend went well! Like the fire truck.

An ice sculpture festival would be a great experience. It must have been really something to see them being carved.

hi karen, i still have that coat. i am not much of a coat wear-er, so they kinda' last forever. i bought the one i am wearing here in costco, for 60.00, i just could not pass it up. it so beautiful and no one would ever guess it came from costco, and it's so warm, i can only wear a cotton shirt under it and i am still warm. i worn boots on this day, it was snowing and the ground was very sloppy!!! but you know those flip flops were in the car and on my feet as soon as i got in the car ;)
