Celebrates the life and times of James P. Allaire's
Howell Iron Works Company, a major industrial center in the 1830's.
In 1822 James P. Allaire purchased the property that was
to become known as the Howell works.
The purpose was to insure a source of iron for his New York City
steam engine works.
We took our final train ride for the season on November 6th.
Allaire State Park also has the most amazing bike paths where we ride all the time.

How fun. The train ride must have been a blast. Never been on a train except at Walt Disney World.

Living history museums are so fun. You feel as though you have traveled back in time.

Oh, I've been dying to go to Allaire and especially see the village! There are just so many beautiful places to see in New Jersey!

Fantastic pictures!!! I always get told I can't take pictures inside the buildings. But I'm starting to see more of them floating around. Maybe next time I go I'll have to give you a ring first. You could help me keep my boys from jumping out the windows on the train too :)

Can't beat the northeast for it's history ~ always so much to see and learn. And brrr...sure can tell the chilly weather's upon us!
