The Jersey Shore

I think New Jersey gets a bad rap from so many people.
It's such a beautiful state, it's the "Garden State"...we have the ocean and fresh seafood.
You can see a view like this in almost every county you visit.

We have an abundance of birds and waterfowl.

I recently spotted this Greater Yellowlegs wading in shallow water during low tide.
This is a robust, elegant wading bird with extremely long yellow legs, and a long, thick bill.

We have had a couple of special meals at our favorite restaurants.
They boast about the fish and lobster arriving at the restaurant the same day they serve it,
it is that fresh.
These meals were enjoyed at
The lobster rolls there are out of this world, packed with lobster.

I had the Lobster Francese on our latest visit to
I have been eating a lot of lobster.

The hubs had this Fish and Chips - $ 10.00 on Wednesday nights.

Once the summer arrives, these restaurants by the ocean are packed with tourists.
That is the one drawback to living where others come to vacation.

As a native of NJ, I agree with you Debbie because the state gets a bad rap and it’s not deserved. All the things you mentioned are good points, especially the seafood, which we also enjoy in New England now.

You surely show the beautiful side. I will admit, I do think of that reality show Jersey Shore.

That is how it was for us when we lived in northern Michigan where everyone vacationed in the summer, it would be terribly packed, and lot's of traffic. But it is a beautiful area and so lucky to have lived there for a few years :) I don't care for seafood so that part wouldn't be of interest to me but I do love the water, that's what I miss most or Michigan

Oh my goodness, what a lovely combination of photos Debbie, boats, water, birds and yummy fish and chips and lobster rolls? I've got to get up that way one of these days, definitely hankering for fish and chips, not sure where they have good lobster rolls around here.

I agree. New Jersey gets a bad rap but I love it. Great food, education, beautiful parks and beaches. Everything within a few hours drive.
