A Few Fun Things

Is it really November?
I know it is, but it seems like yesterday was October 1st.

I have a few fun things to share...

The Bucket List Calendar shows we had a lot of fun in October.
I have been using the stickers that came with it,
and some from my stash.
I only put "fun" stuff on this calendar,
I have another one for the necessary things.
I will definately be purchasing this calendar for 2026,
I derived so much pleasure from keeping up with it and really looked forward to placing my stickers on it.
It is also exciting to look back on all of the things we have enjoyed.

This is "my" Bucket List...
The one I prepare for each season reminding me of the things I want to do, or don't want to miss.
I never plan on crossing everything off,
I just reference it when we have a free day and are looking for an activity.

I started a new blanket...

This is an easy knit, using knit and purl stitches only.
It is a kit for beginners, and although I have been knitting for about 10 years,
I find these kits fun and inspiring.
The kit includes all the yarn, the circular needle, the pattern and a tag for the finished product.
This is from Sierra Yarn it is the Dream Cloud Blanket in light blue/ivory.
The yarn is 60% Baby Alpaca and 40% Pima Cotton, it is as soft as a cloud.

The yarn comes in hanks which must be rolled into a ball.
It takes approximately 15 minutes to ball one hank of yarn.
This blanket requires 8 hanks of yarn, that's a lot of twirling.

I have been pretty disappointed lately with the movies on Netflix and Prime.
We did watch A House of Dynamite on Netflix that we both thought was very good.
Otherwise, I have been watching a lot of Diane Keaton's movies.
"The Family Stone" is my favorite of her movies but really, she was great in everything she did.

I listened to the Giants game, they lost again and my KC Chiefs lost as well.
They played the Buffalo Bills and it was a great game.
I made my "Hot Cheesy Bacon Dip" for Sunday's football game...
If you ever need a recipe for an easy, amazing appetizer, this is the one.

Recipe
8 slices of cooked bacon
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
8 ounces of sour cream
1 cup of mayonnaise
1/2 cup sliced scallions/green onions
Combine all ingredients and spread into a pie plate.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes or until melted and bubbly.
Serve hot/warm with Ruffled Potato Chips.

We have been seeing some pretty sunsets.
I have to remember to look up at the sky earlier now, yesterday it was gorgeous and I missed it!

Hi Debbie :)
You have been busy, and i like the idea of the calendar when you can look back and see all the fun things you did, and I hope you continue doing. The blanket looks like it should be warm and comfy. when finished, and I love the colour of the yarn. The Substantial snack looks yummy too, and your capture of the sunset is beautiful.
Warm good wishes Debbie, I really missed you whilst I was away
and it feels good to be back.

I enjoy calendar journaling- and also keeping up with everything. I used to write it all down on our kitchen calendar, but now I have these to go back through if I want to look up something we did. Your sunset is beautiful. We've had a few gorgeous ones here. I'm snitching your dip recipe for my Christmas Eve party- it looks yummy!

I know right, it seems like Greg isn't home for very long and it is already dark, but I will have to say it is nice he goes into work now with a little light. Yes he is one of the workers having to go into work but not getting paid. The dip sounds good, I have a taco dip I love and I make it for new years ever.
That blanket looks so soft for sure, love that color. You almost had that whole bucket list crossed off. I have been sick twice this month so we have missed our yearly vacation and didn't get to go out to celebrate our anniversary yet.
