This Is Life

Life sure has changed...
I have enjoyed the peace and quiet of quarantine life.
When I think about things opening back up and life going back to normal,
I feel like I will miss these days.
Daily bike rides,
having more time for crafts, home projects, organizing and cleaning up the house.
Time to knit and crochet, cook and bake.
Quiet time at home...

sitting on the deck in my comfy chair, looking out at the river.
These are the moments that I really love.

My Knock-out Roses are gorgeous right now...

The grill has been getting plenty of use, these burgers were delicious!

We have been having really beautiful weather, it has been such a nice spring!
So tell me, have you enjoyed the quarantine life,
have you found the silver lining, even if only a little?

Debbie, Our grocery stores have had senior shoppers hours. Means no kids allowed, that's been nice. I dearly love children. But we have had to avoid them for some time, because of Ted's health issues. Ted has not been in a store for 5-6 months. I do all the shopping. I love your nice place to relax and enjoy outdoor cooking. Beautiful roses too. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

Hello, hubby and I have always lived a quiet life. I miss miss traveling and eating out. We have done the carry-out from our favorite restaurants. I am glad you are enjoying life, your roses are gorgeous. The burger looks yummy.
Happy June! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!

Debbie you are so right about how things have change. I like to to go for walks and I really appreciate the lack of traffic on the roads. The thing I dislike the the most is me and the wife being separated from family.

The isolation has shown me how much I miss morning coffee at A&W with my friends, but it also has shown us how much other "stuff" that we really don to need.

The hubby and I were "regulars" at many restaurants with many friends so the quinine hasn't been pleasant for us other than we have eaten better over all. I only cooked one meal "dinner" one night a week so cooking three meals a day has been a undertaking to say the least. Not so much the cooking but the figuring out what to cook. We have started back to a few of our places but it's just not the same. Sorry that this seems to be a downer reply but it is where I am at.

Debbie, although I do miss seeing my kids and grandkids, I do find this 'sheltering at home' peaceful and am beginning to like the quiet routine of it. We seem to be in more communication with family and friends than before... with Skyping, zoom, email, and text. And although we never ate out all that much, I do miss an occasional night out at a restaurant with the kids... or a Whataburger or Krispy Kreme! We don't do take-out either during this time - with DH's radiation, we're being extra careful.

Your roses are gorgeous Debbie! I am tolerating the quarantine. I was just getting back on feet from battling breast cancer when the
lockdown hit. So in reality I have been quarantining for many many more months than covid has caused. I am going a bit shack-wacky, but I am still able to find the silver lining.

Lovely to see your photographs.
These past months I have been determined to take something positive from each and every day, and I have :)
The hardest thing is not seeing family and grandchildren in the flesh and enjoying their hugs … although Skype has been wonderful … thank you internet :)

Hopefully during June things may ease a little, we wait to see.
In the meantime have a Happy Monday, a good week and a great June.

My good wishes.

All the best Jan

Actually, I feel just like you. I have enjoyed the time at home. It has helped me reevaluate my life and some of my priorities. It's given me time to do more of the things that I love. I'm a work in progress on this one.
I love your chair and that you can enjoy the scenery at relax. The burgers look good too.
Your roses are beautiful!
Blessings and hugs for you two!

I think I've mostly enjoyed it, but it's really not that different from life in general when you're disabled.

Beautiful flowers. i must say that for the most part, I have not felt unhappy, or quarantined. I am not one to be with other people all the time, so not too much has changed, except for the loss of my job, a little earlier than i had planned.

You have a great set up there to enjoy the beautiful days, we have had 3 wonderful days in a row, we have enjoyed our deck these last few days. It hasn't really bothered me that much, having to wear the masks at the store is probably the worse thing.

This is a nice relaxing post.....and your comfortable outside chair there looks SO INVITING!! I would be there for long stretches of time, I think! LOL. Love your outside pictures and your pretty yard and flowers. Is the pool ready yet? I would be so looking forward to enjoying that for sure! Hugs, my friend!

Your roses are beautiful! I've been staining the house for the past four days. In fairness, though, I would have done it whether there was a pandemic or not.

We just talked last evening about how our days aren’t all that different from before (welcome to retirement ))). We like quiet slow days anyway. It sounds untruthful to say we are homebodies because we do travel, but when we are home (which is most of the time ) we enjoy being here. The thing is, it is a lot easier to make blog posts about travels or day trips or hikes than it is about daily life. (Unless you are “purple Debbie” whose beautiful photos make every day special.).
