Lake Of The Lilies

During our latest visit to Lake of the Lilies, we only saw the usual suspects...

The Killdeer

The Mute Swans

A lot of Mute Swans have returned, more than I remember from last year.

There were several people fishing in the lake.

I saw a lot of Red Winged Blackbirds...

Someone painted the sign at the entrance, it needed a fresh coat of paint.
Lake of the Lilies Bird Sanctuary

It was such a pretty day, there is a group that keeps up with the garden around the sign!

BEAUTIFUL! I love these, my friend.

Debbie, I've been MIA and now only back until this afternoon. I haven't ignored my blog friends; it's just
difficult to read posts on my phone. But, know I love ya!

There are killdeer on this island but I’ve never seen them. Thank you for sharing Debbie.

Thank you Debbie for these lovely critters, especially the Killdeer. I've been thinking about them again wondering why and where they went. When we moved here (it's out in the country, although more and more farms are not planting much anymore) and every year we had new nests and babies! Even the Mourning Doves are fewer and fewer, but that's understandable. I always enjoy your beautiful photos. Have a great weekend ahead!

Love those killdeers, they have great markings and like their long legs :) Wow there are a lot of swans aren't there. Looks like a lovely area!!
Hope you continue to have a great weekend!

Lovely snapshots, and how nice that people help to maintain the sign and space around it. Good to know some appreciate nature in a tangible way like that.
