It's Christmas Time In The City...

We visited New York City for Christmas.
It is a long standing tradition dating back to when my boys were little.
We always took them to Radio City Music Hall for the Christmas Spectacular.
When they were very young,
we convinced them it was fun, and that they loved it.
As they got older, they made it very clear that it was not fun, and that they did not love it...
oh well, they are boys,
they don't appreciate the finer things in life.

The City was, as always, beautiful...

The ice skaters at Rockefeller Center

The store front windows at Saks Fifth Avenue were modern, clothing displays.
I did not take pictures.

There were a few random stores that had pretty window decor.

The Christmas Show at Radio City was indeed spectacular.
No flash photography,
and I really only took a few pictures.

Ending with the live Nativity, we both loved the show.

We had dinner at Ruths Chris Steakhouse...
we left the city with full bellies and very happy hearts!

Merry Christmas Debbie to both of you! Your comment about your boys made me smile. We took our four to a lot of places that we thought they should like , but which we really visited because we wanted to! Ours are all middle aged themselves now and at least a couple of them have changed their minds and are grateful ))!

It looks like it was a wonderful day out, and neat displays too! That is funny that your boys never enjoyed it, well they would have never known if they like it or not if you hadn't taken them ;)
Wishing you a lovely Christmas!

I do love Christmas in the city - all the decorations, everything so festive. Yeah - I get it that your sons may not love the tradition, but I'm glad that you and Chuck still enjoy it! This looks like a wonderful day, and fun way to celebrate the season!

Gosh Debbie! What a pretty place. I would love to visit there someday. I would also love those lights and balls on my front lawn. I wonder if they are heavy.
I want to wish you and Chuck a very Merry Christmas.

I really love this tradition that you have continued to keep even after raising your boys. I'm sure my boys would have felt the same way. It is a boy thing. This looked like such a fun trip and I loved the photos. Going to Radio City would be a dream come true. I imagine the NYC is a wonderful place to visit this time of year.
Always love the photos of the two of you. Have a lovely Christmas celebration. Sending loving Christmas thoughts and hugs your way!
