A Ride on a Blue Heron

Last week we crossed another adventure off the bucket list here at the...

Asbury Park Pedal Boats
And just a small p.s. to add here,
am I the only person on earth who always thought these were Paddle Boats?
Now if you've ever ridden in one of these,
Pedal Boats makes more sense, but geez, I never knew until I read the sign.
True story!

Let's move on, I picked the Blue Heron, no surprise there,

we got settled in, not so easy at this age, tried to smile with the sun in our eyes,

and began our scenic, sunset adventure.
Well, it wasn't quite sunset but it was close enough.

Although the boats are in Asbury Park, the view is of Ocean Grove.
This lake separates Ocean Grove and Asbury Park.

has the highest concentration of authentic Victorian architecture in the country.
It is also home to the legendary Great Auditorium and Tent City,
which I have featured in blog posts several times.

Looking over to Asbury Park,
it was a cool and beautiful night and even though Moonstruck was closed,
sorry Chuck,
we had an awesome dinner and a great ride.
And we learned something new,
the steering mechanism doesn't work when only one person is peddling.
Sorry hun, next time I'm going to have to help!

HA ha, now that you say that I am not sure what I was calling them before, but the pedal does make sense :) My cousin had them when I was growing up and we would paddle around Houghton Lake in Michigan, this reminded me of those good times. Glad you were able to knock off another bucket list!

I always thought it was paddle boat too. That's my kind of fun.

I always called them Pedal boats because you gotta do the work, pedaling like on a bike.
Paddle boat to me means, using oars or paddles like for a canoe.
Either way, I couldn't do either one. LOL

The pedal boats around here are rather dull compared to your beautiful blue heron!

You know I think I've always called them (Paddle Boats) myself but you do have to (Pedal) instead of paddle. Loved the boat you picked and the view of it's neck and head. Also what great architecture of the homes there. Looks like a lot of fun.
