Yarn Along!!

I did not finish all my Christmas knitting before Christmas,
I have lofty goals.

I finished my pretty purple Donnie's Hat
after Christmas.
It is done, mailed and received.

I put a pom-pom on it, I think this is the best pom-pom I have ever made.
I googled "how to make a pom-pom" and found a site that used a fork.
I wish I had taken pictures, I used a meat fork as I wanted it a little larger,
it was so easy and I think it looks great!!

I made my usual tags for it,
I always cut up the yarn tag and include that as well.

And you will never believe what I have moved on to...

another Donnie's Hat, in blue.

And I want to start reading again,
fingers crossed that my memory will kick in.
I ordered this book with my Paperwhites at

If I can't read it, at least it will look pretty
sitting on the shelf!

  1. Both colours are pretty. The pom-pom is beautifully made.

  2. Love the pompon!
I have given up on attempting to read..... It takes too much time away from knitting.
But I have figured out how to listen to books on audible. That counts, right?!

  3. That totally reminds me...I meant to do a Pom Pom for the toddler hat I just finished...but I was so relieved to finished the dang thing that I totally forgot! Good thing I have extra yarn! Xoxo Andrea @ This Knitted Life

  4. Debbie, you are very creative. I admire your work and that beautiful pompom!

  5. The hat came out beautiful...nice job:) Ever tried audio books while you knit? Works like a charm and you can download them free from your local library and once they are downloaded they will not expire until you delete them.

  6. You are amazing! Love the hat with the pompom, so very pretty and cute.

I hope you'll enjoy reading also; don't know what I'd do without books. :)

  7. Good morning, sweet lady! I just LOVE how your Donnie's at turned out. It's absolutely perfection :)

I hope your New Year is off to a fabulous start. Hugs to you!

  8. Debbie gorgeous cap.
It has a beautiful color and nice pattern.
He made it very carefully, carefully.
    Greetings from the cold Polish.

  9. Your hat looks great. The book sounds interesting. I'll see if our library has it.

  10. i like your pom pom and your tags, too. :)

  11. My daughter gets a lot of use out of her hats! :-)

  12. Love the hat and the pompom. I can wait to hear how about your book. There is nothing better than a good murder mystery to sit down with during the cold winter months. Hugs!

  13. Your knitting always makes me want to go out and buy a hat even though I know full well I won't wear it because my head gets to hot. Beautiful work.

  14. Looks great! I wear a toque about 6 months of the year, so getting the right one is important. Got a fluorescent orange to wear during hunting season this year.

  15. Oooo great hats - and yes indeed, a perfect pom-pom!

  16. Your hat is just fabulous, great job on the pom pom too, isn't it wonderful when you can give a gift and you feel totally happy with it!! Love that color blue you are doing now.... enjoy the book ;)

  17. Ooops forgot to say how much I love your tag too, great touch to go along with it!!

  18. I would say that you are becoming an expert in this craft. I love the blue color that you are working on. It is my favorite color of all. The book looks like a good one too and the cover is cute or maybe attractive is a better word. Hugs~

  19. Lovely hat. I'm sure it's softness and warmth are appreciated. Hope the book is a good read.
